I listened to this interesting podcast this evening about how we may get overwhelmed with trying to fit too much into our time often in the quest to achieve balance! Well worth a listen if this is something you find yourself struggling with.

Saw this lovely quote today which I think is so relevant. It’s important to be kind to ourselves and recognise when our energy levels are high or low and treat ourselves accordingly 🙏🏻

Tomorrow is October and it’s getting darker and colder. This is the time of year where it can be more challenging to keep motivated but we can do some positive things to help us adjust to the new season. Sharing this calendar of ideas to give some inspiration. Hope you find it useful 😊

I love this post which highlights both the positive and negative sides of the 5 main Drivers that we all use to get by in life and which we can learn, through self reflection, to keep in balance. 🙏🏻
Which Drivers do you recognise as your own?

At the end of July (30th/31st) and the end of August (27th/28th), Connexus will be running the TA101 Introduction to Transactional Analysis Course. Over these exciting two-days, we will introduce you to core Transactional Analysis theory and concepts and how to apply them to you and your life. One piece of theory we will explore is that of Drivers (Kahler, 1975) - clusters of behaviours based on how we adapted to our early environments and that we can default to in a way that can lead to tension/stress and prevent problem solving.

Be Strong: Solving issues by 'being strong' can sometimes be helpful. – not, however, if you are withdrawing, telling yourself not to let others think you are weak and finding it difficult to ask for support.

Please Others: Caring about others is essential for social harmony, though not if it comes at the expense of your own needs and not if you are fulfilling an internal command that this is something you 'have' to do rather than you are 'choosing' to do.

Hurry up: Getting a lot of things done can be very productive, though not so much if you are rushing around, rarely taking time to relax and feeling guilty if you are not accomplishing anything.

Be Perfect: Attention to detail can be beneficial in many ways, though less so if you are running with an internal message that you "ought to be better", and in a way that you cannot tolerate mistakes in yourself or others.

Try Hard: Effort, determination, and persistence are instrumental if you want to get on in life – not, however, if you are over-complicating things, getting lost in detail, missing the big picture and running with an internal motto of 'Well I tried!'

What do you think about this theory? Do you relate to one or more of the drivers?

This picture really caught my attention today. It can be difficult to see the way ahead sometimes but if we take small steps we are more likely to reach our goals. What small step will you take today?
