🌒 Planning to watch today’s solar eclipse? Please protect your eyes.

Looking directly at the Sun during an eclipse without the correct eye protection can damage the retina at the back of your eye, potentially causing permanent problems with your vision.

One of the dangers is that retinal damage may not hurt while it is happening, so you may not realise that you’ve injured your eyes until afterwards.

Normal sunglasses are NOT safe for viewing an eclipse, no matter how dark they are.

If you want to view the eclipse directly, only use genuine eclipse glasses or solar viewers carrying the ISO 12312-2 safety certification. Alternatively, use an indirect viewing method such as a pinhole projector.

👁️ Your eyesight isn’t worth the risk – enjoy the eclipse safely.
