We are absolutely thrilled to continue our partnership with Medical Detection Dogs on their groundbreaking research project focusing on the early detection of urinary tract infections. The incredible team recently visited us to gather valuable feedback and learn about our residents' thoughts on this vital work, and they even brought along a wonderful group of dogs for everyone to play with!

These visits bring immense benefits to our care home, as interacting with the dogs provides our residents with wonderful emotional comfort, reduces anxiety, and boosts overall mood through therapeutic companionship. At the same time, contributing to this innovative research gives those living with us a deeply fulfilling sense of purpose, knowing they are helping to shape the future of healthcare and improve lives.

We are always so grateful for the wonderful Maria, who visits our care home regularly to bring so much joy and laughter to our residents through our favorite bingo sessions.

Her dedication to tackling loneliness in our community recently took her all the way to Buckingham Palace for a Royal Garden Party, where she had the incredible honor of meeting Princess Catherine, the Princess of Wales. During their special meeting, Maria discussed her meaningful community work and even gifted the Princess her handmade "Never Alone Buddies," with three of the comforting dolls heading home for the royal children.

These regular visits from Maria do so much more than just provide entertainment; they offer our residents vital social connection, mental stimulation, and a deep sense of belonging that truly brightens their everyday lives.

We brought the joy of rhythm to our residents last week with our new "Buckets for Bongos" drumming sessions! Transforming everyday buckets into lively percussion instruments is a fantastic way for everyone to boost their physical and mental well-being.

Drumming provides a gentle, accessible cardio workout that improves upper-body strength and joint mobility right from a comfortable seat. Beyond the physical perks, these high-energy music sessions stimulate cognitive function, spark nostalgic memories, and naturally reduce stress by releasing feel-good endorphins. Group drumming also creates a wonderful sense of community and shared laughter, helping our residents connect with one another in a vibrant, meaningful way.

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming some very special guests to our home recently! A huge thank you goes out to Millie, the wonderful Team Leader at Oak and Maple House, for bringing over a fantastic group of teenagers to visit those living with us.

The afternoon was filled with joy as everyone worked together on a jigsaw puzzle, got creative with arts and crafts, read together, and even made beautiful prizes for our upcoming quiz afternoon. This beautiful intergenerational visit brought immense benefits to everyone involved, as our residents thrived on the youthful energy, companionship, and mental stimulation, while the teenagers gained valuable life perspectives, social skills, and a rewarding sense of purpose through community service.

It was incredibly heartwarming to see these different generations connecting so deeply, sharing smiles, and building meaningful bonds that left everyone feeling uplifted and inspired. 🧩🎨📚🌟
