What a pleasure it was today to be back in the woods, this time with grown ups! Today we delivered a CPD session to key members of staff at Whaddon C Of E School, a long standing Forest School partner of Green Planet. The session focussed on children’s right to play, and the benefit of creating space where they can engage the flow state to enhance their development. We also discussed the benefits of risk during Forest School and got to indulge in some risky play ourselves.

Meet The Team - Mr Mud Edition🐦‍⬛🍁🏹🪓⛺

Alex “Mr Mud” Rogers is Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Green Planet Forest School, a centre of excellence and expertise in Forest School & Outdoor Learning. Alex's enthusiasm for the outdoors is at the heart of everything he does, inspiring children and young people to learn, grow and thrive through meaningful experiences in nature.

Practical and forward-thinking, Alex is always exploring new ways to make Forest School accessible to more children, families and communities. Working across schools, alternative provision and holiday clubs, alongside delivering Forest School Leader training courses and Consultancy, Alex is passionate about creating high-quality outdoor learning opportunities for children that build confidence, curiosity, resilience, wellbeing and a genuine connection to nature.

Outside work, Alex enjoys climbing, wild camping and wild swimming among some of Britain’s finest mountain ranges. He is also a Target Sports instructor, competing nationally and internationally in knife and axe throwing, and even finding time for a little archery. 🎯
