We apologise for the noise, while the new front doors are being installed.

Because of their location, this affects the ground floor waiting room and is quite loud.

The doors will take two days to complete.

📢 School Attendance Letters & Medical Evidence for Schools 📢

We have recently experienced an increasing number of requests for GP letters or “sick notes” relating to school attendance concerns.

It is important to note that GPs are not trained, insured, or commissioned to make recommendations about whether a child should attend school, remain absent, or follow a part-time timetable. Decisions regarding school attendance and the support required should be managed by schools, including SENCO teams and School Nursing Services, who are best placed to assess educational needs and support arrangements.

Where schools require medical information relating to a child’s health condition, parents and guardians can often access and share this directly through the NHS App (with proxy access enabled), including:

• Consultation records
• Summary Care Records
• Hospital or consultant letters
• Relevant medical information discussed with a clinician

As this information is already available, it is not necessary for the GP practice to provide a separate chargeable letter or “sick note” for school attendance purposes.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

BUILDING WORKS UPDATE

The next phase of the refurbishment has a large impact on the use of the building, for both patients and staff.

All of the first floor GP rooms, the first floor waiting room and the main staircase will be out of use from Monday 8 June until Friday 19 June. The whole GP team will be working on the ground floor - making use of our new consulting rooms.

Our Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants will be working in their usual corridor upstairs. Patients are asked to check in as usual, then use the lift to access the first floor. We will be using our meeting room as a waiting room - this will be signposted; turn right when you get to the first floor.

If you have any concerns regarding using the lift, please do speak with our team, who will be happy to assist.
