Some exciting news from Keymer Hall. We've been named a finalist in the Dementia Care and Engagement category at the 2027 National Activity Awards, run by NAPA. 💚🏆

For a home that welcomed its first residents less than a year ago, it means a lot. From our Sporting Legends Café with Burgess Hill Town FC and time spent with local children, to growing together in the allotment, engagement here isn't something saved for the activities calendar. It's woven into everyday life.

Through our Nostalgia Care approach, our team gets to know the person, their stories, interests and the things that still make them light up. Our Nostalgia Community, dedicated to residents living with dementia, is built around exactly that. 💙

We're very proud of everyone at Keymer Hall and will be keeping everything crossed for the awards in January. 🤞

☀️ What a lovely day we had at our Keymer Residents, Families & Neighbours BBQ!

It was a beautiful sunny day and a great chance for our residents, their families, neighbours and the team to get together, enjoy some good food and have a bit of fun.

There was plenty to keep everyone entertained, from the Brighton bouncy castles and giant games to hook-a-duck, the stocks and summer fayre games. And, of course, we had Indulgent Ice Creams vintage ice cream van to keep everyone cool! 🍦

It was lovely to see everyone chatting, laughing and enjoying the sunshine together.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such a lovely afternoon. 💛

September is World Alzheimer's Month 💚

Curious to find ways to keep your loved one engaged at home? You're not alone. 🤔

The Montessori approach might be the missing piece. Originally developed as an educational philosophy, it was adapted for dementia care in the 1990s and has been used in care settings around the world ever since. The idea: build on the skills someone already has, rather than asking them to learn or remember something new.

Our residents had a wonderful time getting creative with flower arranging, and we think you’ll agree that they’ve made some lovely creations! 🌷🌺🌼

🌸 Passions, creativity and precious moments together 🌿

We love seeing our residents continue to enjoy the hobbies and passions that have always brought them joy. 💚

Recently, our residents and their loved ones spent some lovely time together creating beautiful hanging baskets and pots. 🌱🪻 There was plenty of creativity, conversation and laughter along the way, with everyone putting their own special touch into their creations.

It’s wonderful to see familiar interests continue to flourish and to share these moments with the people who mean the most. 🌺

Some news we’re delighted to share from Keymer Hall. The home has been named a finalist in the Healthcare & Wellness Design (UK) category at the SBID International Design Awards 2026. 🏆💚

Keymer Hall’s design takes its cues from the South Downs, from the colours used throughout the home to a layout created with residents living with dementia in mind. The details are there for a reason, helping make spaces feel calm, familiar and easier to navigate each day. 🌿

The expert judging panel has had its say, and now there’s a public vote too. If you’d like to support Keymer Hall, voting closes at 5pm on Friday 4 September. Every vote would mean a lot to the team. 💚

🐍🦎 A Scaly, Creepy-Crawly Visit! 🐢🌿

Our residents had a fantastic time when Tom's Talking Reptiles came to visit! 🥰

There were plenty of amazing creatures to meet, with our residents getting the chance to handle and learn about snakes, stick insects, tortoises and many more fascinating reptiles and minibeasts! 🐍🐢🪲

It was wonderful to see so many smiles, curiosity and a few brave hands reaching out to get up close with these incredible animals. 💚

A huge thank you to Tom's Talking Reptiles for such an exciting and memorable visit! We’re already looking forward to welcoming you back. 🐢🐍✨
