We have been informed by East Lancashire Hospitals Trust that staff working in the blood sciences departments at Blackburn Royal Hospital and Burnley General Hospital will be taking part in industrial action on the following dates:

15 to 19 June - 22 to 26 June - 29 June to 3 July - 6 to 10 July

Unfortunately, this means the laboratories at both hospitals will have a reduced capacity, which will lead to longer waiting times for patients to receive results of blood tests.

We appreciate this may be frustrating, but we would politely ask patients not to contact the practice to chase up the results of blood tests, as we will be unable to make things happen any quicker.

Thank you to all patients for your continued support and understanding.

We are proud to be raising money for the British Heart Foundation after the team at Yorkshire Street Medical Centre nominated and selected them as our Charity of the Year for 2026–2027.

Over the next 12 months, we hope you will support us as we help shine a light on the incredible work the BHF does.

Local cardiovascular disease statistics from British Heart Foundation state that 13,000 people in Burnley are living with cardiovascular disease. That 60% of maximum capacity of turf moor.

Our fabulous Nurse Melanie Kay is kicking us off and has signed up for the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run half Marathon taking place on 31st May 2026

You can read Mel's story and donate here https://ajbellgreatmanchesterrun2026.enthuse.com/pf/melanie-kay?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&utm_id=97760_v0_s00_e0_tv3_a1dennhax093pu

We are still finalising the rest of our fundraising activities, but we are certain there will be plenty of fancy dress β€” or at the very least, some colourful outfits involved along the way!

Thank you again for all your continued support.
