Meet the Team Tuesday ✨
Rebecca Smith - Inpatient Unit and Hospice at Home Manager
We’re delighted to introduce Rebecca, who joined the Pendleside family three months ago and has already become a valued member of the team.
As our Inpatient Unit and Hospice at Home Manager, Rebecca provides compassionate and visible leadership across both services, ensuring patients receive high-quality, holistic palliative care, tailored to their individual needs. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, she helps deliver safe and responsive care both within the hospice and in patients' own homes, supporting people to remain in their preferred place of care wherever possible. 🫶
What Rebecca values most about working at Pendleside is the privilege of supporting patients and families during some of the most important and challenging moments of their lives, while working alongside such a compassionate and dedicated team.
Rebecca added: "It's a place where care is genuinely person-centred, and where staff are supported to make a meaningful difference every day. The support within the team is something I really value. We look after each other, share knowledge and work together to provide the best possible care. Nothing is ever too much and, if we can do it, we will. Being part of helping patients and their families make the most precious memories in such difficult circumstances is the most rewarding job anyone could wish for."
🐶Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys relaxing with her husband, spending quality time with her daughters, and getting outdoors with their dogs. She's also hoping to get her family involved in some of Pendleside's amazing fundraising events and is always happy to volunteer and lend a hand whenever she can.
Despite only being with us for three months, Rebecca has settled into her role brilliantly and it already feels as though she has been part of the Pendleside team for years. Her warmth, dedication and leadership have made a real impact, and we are incredibly grateful to have her on the team. 💛
