The secret to faster treatments? ๐Ÿ˜‚

18/08/2026

This cheek map reached over 6 MILLION views.

But the dots were never the most important part.

A facial map is not a template.
And these numbers are not a prescription for somebody elseโ€™s face.

Before choosing a single placement, I would assess:

โ€ข existing skeletal projection
โ€ข masculine or feminine treatment goals
โ€ข fat distribution and tissue quality
โ€ข asymmetry between both sides
โ€ข the area that actually needs support
โ€ข product characteristics and treatment plane
โ€ข individual anatomy and risk

For this masculine concept, the intention was stronger lateral projection and definition without creating a rounded or feminised cheek.

The smaller amounts demonstrate controlled distribution rather than placing a large amount of filler into one point. But the correct amount, position, depth and product would be different for every face.

Clients: never ask a practitioner to copy a map you found online.

Practitioners: if you cannot explain why you selected every point, plane, product and amount, the map is not ready to be injected.

Dots are easy to copy.

Clinical judgement is not.

Comment CHEEKS and Iโ€™ll send you my educational breakdown of how I approach cheek planning safely. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

Individual consultation and assessment are always required.

Ice water can make your skin look fresherโ€ฆ but letโ€™s separate the real benefits from the internet claims. ๐ŸงŠ

Cold exposure may temporarily:

โœ”๏ธ reduce the appearance of puffiness
โœ”๏ธ calm mild swelling
โœ”๏ธ make tired skin appear more refreshed

But it will not:

โœ–๏ธ permanently shrink your pores
โœ–๏ธ stimulate significant collagen production
โœ–๏ธ treat acne, pigmentation or skin ageing
โœ–๏ธ replace an effective skincare routine or professional treatment

The effect is temporary, and colder does not automatically mean better.

Avoid facial icing if you have very sensitive skin, visible or broken capillaries, or you are recovering from a peel, laser treatment, cosmetic procedure or surgery unless your treating professional has specifically advised it.

If you want lasting skin improvement, focus on the basics first: daily SPF, appropriate active ingredients and treatments selected for your actual skin concern.

Would you try this, or is the ice bowl staying in the freezer? ๐ŸงŠ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

Save this before copying another viral skincare trend.

Many injectors were taught to place their frown points high above the brows.

But the corrugator often sits much closer to the brow than traditional templates suggest.

Injecting too high may affect the lower frontalis, the muscle responsible for lifting the brows. This can contribute to heaviness or a lower brow position.

The newer anatomy-led approach aims to target the actual corrugator while preserving more frontalis activity.

But this does not mean simply injecting lower. Depth, anatomy, diffusion and distance from the orbital rim still matter.

Stop treating five dots.

Start treating the muscle you can see and feel moving.

Target the depressor. Preserve the lift.

Were you originally taught the higher pattern?

If I started my aesthetics business again, I wouldnโ€™t begin with more treatments.

I would begin with better systems.

I would set up a professional booking system from day one instead of keeping client details and appointments scattered across different places.

I would create stronger consultation, consent, treatment and aftercare forms before becoming busy, rather than constantly rebuilding everything later.

And I would understand much earlier that running an aesthetics business isnโ€™t only about being a good injector.

Itโ€™s also about:

โœ”๏ธ Client communication
โœ”๏ธ Documentation and compliance
โœ”๏ธ Photography and content
โœ”๏ธ Follow-ups and aftercare
โœ”๏ธ Finances and stock
โœ”๏ธ Boundaries and cancellation policies
โœ”๏ธ Building trust online
โœ”๏ธ Creating a consistent client experience

Learning how to inject is only one part of the job. The systems behind your treatments are what help your clinic grow safely and sustainably.

And that brings us to Dear New Injector #30, the final video in this series. ๐Ÿฅน

Creating these 30 videos has helped me too. Iโ€™m more confident speaking on camera, sharing what Iโ€™ve learned and showing up as myself. Watching the first videos back still makes me cringe a little, but I can finally see the progress.

Thank you to every injector who watched, saved, commented or felt slightly less alone because of this series.

If thereโ€™s another question you want me to answer, leave it below. Maybe this isnโ€™t the end of Dear New Injector after allโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ’‰

Stop trying to โ€œupsellโ€ your clients.

Start creating treatment plans.

There is a huge difference between recommending something because it genuinely supports a clientโ€™s goals and suggesting treatments simply to increase the bill.

A good consultation should help your client understand:

โœ”๏ธ What you can see during assessment
โœ”๏ธ Which options may be appropriate
โœ”๏ธ What should be prioritised
โœ”๏ธ What can wait
โœ”๏ธ Whether a course or maintenance may be needed
โœ”๏ธ The expected costs, limitations and alternatives
โœ”๏ธ That doing nothing is always an option

You donโ€™t need to pressure anyone or make them feel insecure.

Explain your recommendations clearly, give them time to decide and respect their budget. If they say no, the conversation ends there.

I also encourage clients to plan future appointments when appropriate. Not because they must book, but because many people find it easier to manage their diary and budget when they understand the potential journey ahead.

The goal isnโ€™t to sell the most treatments.

Itโ€™s to recommend only what you genuinely believe is appropriate and create enough trust that your clients choose to return.

That isnโ€™t being pushy. Thatโ€™s responsible treatment planning.

Save this for your next consultation.

The cheapest aesthetics course can become the most expensive mistake you make.

Good training isnโ€™t just about receiving a certificate. It should help you build the knowledge, confidence and support needed to practise safely.

Before booking, ask yourself:

โœ”๏ธ Who is teaching me, and how experienced are they?
โœ”๏ธ Will I learn anatomy, complications and real treatment planning?
โœ”๏ธ How much practical experience will I receive?
โœ”๏ธ Is ongoing support included?
โœ”๏ธ Is the qualification recognised by insurers?
โœ”๏ธ Can I speak to previous students and read genuine reviews?

When I started, I was working full-time in the NHS and couldnโ€™t simply afford everything. I took out a loan because I believed investing in proper education could change my future.

It did.

If youโ€™re starting from scratch and need recognised qualifications from Level 3 to Level 7, I personally recommend A Training in Grantham.

If youโ€™re already qualified and practising, you can also train directly with me in Southampton through private, treatment-specific mentorships designed to refine your skills, confidence and clinical decision-making.

Choose training based on quality, support and where it can take you, not simply the lowest price.

Comment TRAINING and tell me whether youโ€™re starting from scratch or looking to upskill, and Iโ€™ll send you the most suitable option. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

Being qualified to perform a treatment doesnโ€™t automatically mean youโ€™re competent to perform it alone.

Before treating a client, ask yourself:

Can I confidently explain the anatomy?
Do I understand the product and why Iโ€™m using it?
Can I create an appropriate treatment plan?
Do I know the risks and recognise complications?
Could I manage an emergency or know exactly when to escalate?
Can I provide accurate aftercare?

If the answer to any of these is no, pause.

That doesnโ€™t mean youโ€™ve failed or that you should give up on the treatment. It means you need more education, observation, supervised practice or mentorship before offering it independently.

Feeling nervous is normal. Working without the knowledge to protect your client is different.

A certificate may show that you attended training. Your clinical judgement determines whether you are ready to practise.

Be honest about what you know, recognise what you donโ€™t, and never let pressure, money or comparison push you beyond your competence.

Save this as your pre-treatment confidence check and follow for Dear New Injector #29.

16/08/2026

Making a mistake doesnโ€™t make you a bad injector. Hiding it might.

No practitioner is perfect, but how you respond when something goes wrong says everything about your professionalism.

Donโ€™t panic.
Donโ€™t become defensive.
And please donโ€™t ignore it and hope it disappears.

Instead:

โœ”๏ธ Be honest with your client
โœ”๏ธ Assess the situation properly
โœ”๏ธ Document everything clearly
โœ”๏ธ Follow your complication protocol
โœ”๏ธ Ask an experienced practitioner or prescriber for support
โœ”๏ธ Escalate early when necessary
โœ”๏ธ Check in with the client and keep communicating
โœ”๏ธ Reflect on what happened and what needs to change

Mistakes should never be dismissed as โ€œjust part of learning,โ€ especially when someoneโ€™s wellbeing is involved. But one difficult experience does not need to destroy your confidence or your business.

Take responsibility. Get support. Learn from it. Become safer because of it.

And choose training providers who will still answer the phone after they have taken your payment. That after-support could be invaluable when you need guidance most.

Save this for the day you need the reminder.
