❌ DERBY ROAD CLOSURE & ONE-WAY SYSTEM UNTIL 3RD JULY 2026.
Phase 1 - From 07.30am on Monday 11 May 2026, we’ll begin the first phase of the scheme, starting with the civil works. Works will take place, Monday to Saturday between the hours of 7.30am to 5pm These initial works will take place under a one-way system along Derby Road which will be in operation 24/7 in the direction from the Pirelli Island to the Derby Turns Island, heading towards Burton town centre. The one-way system will be set up on the evening of Sunday 10 May 2026, ahead of the works starting.
At the start of the civil works, the one-way system will operate on the side of the carriageway closest to the business frontages, allowing us to complete the works outside the residential properties. Please note that throughout the civil works, there will be no on street parking available, this is for the safety of the general public and workforce; however, access to driveway frontages will be maintained.
Following the completion of the civil works outside the residential properties, the one-way system will switch to the side of the carriageway closest to the properties, enabling us to complete the works outside the business frontages. Access to driveway frontages will be maintained throughout. Ahead of the traffic management changeover, we will notify businesses to ensure they are aware of when this will take place. Please contact us in advance, so that we can help with any specific needs or requirements during this phase of the works.
The civil works are due to be completed on Friday 3 July 2026, at which point the one-way system will be removed.
