🚑 Looking to build experience for a career in pre-hospital care?

As part of our Pre-Hospital Career Advice service, we’re always looking for opportunities that can help aspiring healthcare professionals develop the skills, confidence and experience that matter.

We know that volunteering in a care home isn’t frontline ambulance work — but the experience can be incredibly valuable.

Ambulance clinicians regularly support older people, people living with dementia, individuals with complex needs and those who may be vulnerable or socially isolated. Spending time in a care environment can help you develop communication skills, compassion, patience and confidence when supporting people with different needs.

That’s why we wanted to share this fantastic volunteering opportunity with Trinity Court Care Home. 💜

We had the pleasure of meeting the team from Trinity Court at Care Fest 2026, and we were genuinely impressed by their professionalism and clear commitment to the wellbeing of their residents and staff.

Volunteering could involve:

🌿 Gardening and spending time outdoors with residents
🎨 Supporting activities and events
💬 Providing companionship and simply being there for someone

For anyone considering a future career as a First Responder, ECA, Ambulance Technician, Paramedic or other healthcare professional, experience like this can provide a strong foundation in one of the most important parts of healthcare — caring for and communicating with people.

It's only 6 days before the inaugural CARE FEST in Burton on Trent, phew where did the last few weeks go ! 🌸 Flower Arranging at Trinity Court 🌸
What a lovely afternoon we had getting creative with beautiful, colourful blooms! 💐 Our residents enjoyed choosing their favourite flowers, creating gorgeous arrangements, and sharing plenty of smiles and conversation along the way.
Activities like this are a wonderful way to encourage creativity, relaxation and time spent together — and we think the finished arrangements look absolutely stunning! 🌷🌼🌹
