Ask Anglia CPR - when should I worry about a head injury? 💜🧡
Head injuries in children and young people are common. Children are active explorers; developing and learning about the World around them. Many children and young people are also involved in activities and organised sports, as well as riding bikes and scooters (helmets are a must!)

✅Many sporting governing bodies have return to play protocols, which provide guidance to clubs and coaches about returning to organised sports following head injuries.

✅If you are worried at any time, access 111, your GP, A&E or 999.

✅You can support your child to sleep as per their normal routine. However, it is recommended that you check your child more frequently overnight to ensure that they are sleeping as they normally would, and that they make an appropriate response when you rouse them.

Can I be sued for providing CPR or First Aid?

Fear of doing something wrong in an emergency situation is a common concern amongst bystanders and trained first aiders.
Whilst the UK does not specifically have a Good Samaritan Act, acts considered to be of good samaritan in nature are consider under the Social Action Responsibility And Heroism Act 2015 (SARAH), as well as other elements of common UK Law.
Doing nothing in an emergency is always worse than doing something.

Three reasons I've been told for not wanting to learn CPR 💜🧡

Undertaking any new skill can be daunting. Learning CPR especially so, as it often fills people with worry about doing it wrong. Honestly, if you do nothing during a cardiac arrest, the person will most certainly die. Doing something is always better than doing nothing.

We work really hard to ensure eveyone leaves our training courses confident. We train with kindness. Whatever your concerns are about learning any new life saving skill, or if you've learnt before and would love an update - we'd love to work with you!
