Choosing a homebirth for your first birth isn’t as “out there” as you may be led to believe… society has seriously skewed our perceptions on our ability to birth our babies…

Probably my most favourite spot I’ve sat for a feed 💖

We’re still going at 13 months, and our journey still isn’t linear.

So thankful for the power of the b**b when he got upset during the lion king show and to help him sleep during the flight.

Fed up however of the constant overnight wakings, more so when his sleep has been disturbed in the day and the soreness from the eczema/his preference to latch with his teeth 🫠

Would I have it any other way? No… would I like a little more sleep? Yes 😂

I’ve been back supporting birth, and I’m still grinning days later!

It’s a feeling you can’t describe unless you’ve experienced it… The oxytocin buzz lasts days 🫶🏻

Things that have had me feeling all of the warm and fuzzies this week.

Alongside Kirsti Compassionate Midwife. Independent Midwife (who is just bloody incredible in every way) I really am living out my dream 💖💖💖

It’s been a wonderful week so far… and it’s only Tuesday!!!

I came home today to these from my husband and daughter, as a little “well done” for the last few weeks which have been busy but beautiful!! I couldn’t do this work without the support of my husband (and the rest of my family!)… Being on-call is a huge commitment and continual juggle, but I wouldn’t have life any other way.

Oh and if you’ve not tried these biscuits from M&S Food you MUST… They are 👌👌👌

Just from today I’ve counted around 145 WhatsApp’s, 20 voice notes and over an hour on the phone…

It’s been a busy few days… At this point I speak to Kirsti Compassionate Midwife. Independent Midwife more than I speak to my husband 😂💖

Sometimes an antenatal appointment is a bit of clinical work followed by birth planning, sometimes it’s teaching parents to be about cloth nappies and putting a giant nappy on a tiny doll ❤️❤️

It really is such a privilege to work in this way and to be able to give families the time and space to discuss what’s important to them. Feeling super grateful that I’ve been able to pass on some of our cloth nappies and the skills I’ve learnt to a new family… Excited to support them with this! 🫶🏻

No joke, I once had a “I’m contracting!!” message just as the first foil went in about 2 years ago…

Birth workers tell me below what’s your anxiety-fuelled activity whilst on call 😂👇
