Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre hosted the Rwandan Olympic and Paralympic Teams as an official London 2012 Pre-Games Training Camp in summer 2012 as they prepared for the Games. Facilities include: 110 station gym 3 aerobic studios, 1 Power plate studio, 4 swimming pools & flumes, International Athletics Arena, 5 badminton court main sports hall, 3 squash courts, Coffee Shop, 6 Astro turf pitches,

Jacob reaches an incredible swimming milestone! 🌟🏊

Seven-year-old Jacob from Sudbury has completed all seven stages of our Swim Academy at Kingfisher Leisure Centre, an achievement Swim England has described as “unusually early” for his age! 🌟

After three years of lessons, Jacob has now moved into the Black Hat group and started Stage 8, continuing to build his skills and confidence in the water.

A huge well done to Jacob, and a special thank you to his teachers, particularly June, for all their support and encouragement along the way. 💙

Swimming is such an important life skill, and we’re so proud to see young swimmers like Jacob enjoying their swimming journey and progressing every step of the way.

As part of our major refurbishment programme, there will be some temporary closures in August to allow essential improvement works to take place.

📅 Full Centre Closure: Wednesday 19- Tuesday 25 August (re-open Wednesday 26th) This will enable the installation of our new energy pod, helping us become a greener and more energy-efficient leisure centre.

✅ During the full closure, members can use other Abbeycroft gyms, pools and classes, with additional classes available at Skyliner Sports Centre - view the schedules for other centres on the app or website.

💦Swim Academy members will be emailed informing of a refund for one lesson due to the centre closure We appreciate your patience and support while we make these exciting improvements.

As part of our major refurbishment programme, there will be some temporary closures in August to allow essential improvement works to take place.

🏟️ Main Hall Closure: 19 August-26 October
Works include floor repairs, new lighting, redecorating, upgraded sports markings, deep cleaning and more.

✅ During the full closure, members can use other Abbeycroft gyms, pools and classes, with additional classes available at Skyliner Sports Centre - view the schedules for other centres on the app or website.

💦Swim Academy members will be emailed informing of a refund for one lesson due to the centre closure
