📍 In-Person & Online Services Hi, I’m Angela Day, founder of Born to Run Canine Rehabilitation & Core Conditioning, based in Suffolk, UK. I help dogs move better, recover safely, and stay stronger for longer through rehabilitation, movement and pain assessments, injury detection, laser therapy, canine ma

ssage therapy, and core conditioning. My work combines hands-on rehabilitation with practical owner education to help bridge the gap between reactive and proactive canine healthcare. I work with both companion and sporting dogs, supporting everything from mobility issues and post-operative recovery to injury prevention, conditioning, posture, movement, and long-term wellbeing. Alongside my clinical work, I am founder of The Canine Advocates, an online educational dog health community helping owners better understand canine health, movement, wellbeing, and proactive care. My mission is to reduce pain levels and improve mobility in 1 million dogs by helping owners spot problems earlier, understand their dog’s body better, and make more confident, informed decisions about lifelong health and wellbeing.

So this little guy has us deeply worried again.
After a second collapse in 3 months and nearly losing him first time around it’s been a horrible few months.
It absolutely breaks my heart that he’s only 2 years old and yet he’s experienced excruciating pain with HGE already (cause unknown) 😥

The vets have now pushed the suspected heart issue to the side and are investigating 2 options, neither of which I can bear to think about

A brain tumour
Epilepsy

I am praying for neither and I hope they’ve got this all horribly wrong. I genuinely can’t do this alone. Please send us good vibes and thoughts as Blaze is referred this week for even more diagnostics. 🙏

Sue Crawford Debbie Allery thank you so much for all your support behind the scenes 💖

Hydration isn't just about drinking water, in fact drinking more water than normal could be an indicator of dehydration.

Hydration and good health is about drinking the purest water and replacing electrolytes. I recommend Oxypet. It genuinely is that simple.
In this article I explain why

Your dog drinks enough water. So why might they still be dehydrated?Drinking water and being hydrated at a cellular level are not the same thing.

Does anyone here have any experience of dog respirator masks as smoke inhalation protection?

Little Amy’s Mum booked a Laser Therapy Block because Amy had stopped wanting to go for walks and was looking a bit stiff

I received this photo last week with this message “she decided to grace us for a walk” 😂

I am seeing some truly incredible results from Laser Therapy and as Amy and a few others come to the last week or so of their treatment block I have 5 more block spaces available.

If your dog needs some help with their mobility
For best results and cost effectiveness book a block of 10 at £350
Each treatment then equates to £35 and the block is normally claimable on insurance (check your insurer for specifics)

The first 2 weeks I work on a cumulative build with 2 sessions each week. For the remaining 6 weeks you'll do one session a week. If your dog has any little niggles, I can iron those out over the 10 weeks too 🤗

If you haven’t worked with me in the last 12 months you will need to complete a consent form.

Once you book your block I’ll be in touch to arrange dates and times 😎

Most dog owners believe heatstroke is a hot car problem that only happens on 25°C days. The data tells a terrifyingly different story.

In the UK, the median temperature, where dogs collapse from heat-related illness, is just 16.9°C. That is a mild spring morning.
It happens on gentle walks, in living rooms, and inside sports halls, long before any owner thinks to be cautious.

Your dog cannot speak up when their body is failing. They don't have a voice to tell you that their internal cooling system is collapsing, and their drive to please you will push them past the point of safety every single time.
They set their safety in your hands, and keeping them alive comes down to your ability to read the warning signs everyone else misses.

This isn't about memorising basic tips or half information. It is about understanding the exact physiological mechanisms that dictate whether your dog recovers safely or enters a life-threatening crisis.

What You Gain in the Seasonal Safety Series

Submodule 1: Core Thermal Mechanics
Understand the foundational physics of canine thermoregulation.

Submodule 2: The Humidity Trap
Understanding Unseen Thermal Load
Learn why a muggy 18°C day can collapse a dog's panting efficiency faster than a sunny 25°C day.

Submodule 3: Internal Heat Engines
Metabolic Production vs. Environmental Heat
Discover how exercising muscles generate internal heat at 50 to 80 times the resting metabolic rate.

Submodule 4: Micro-Environments & Transport
Hidden Traps & The Post-Exercise Lag
Expose the dangerous 6-to-12-minute core body temperature spike that occurs after exercise stops. Learn why placing a hot dog straight into a crate or vehicle is a recipe for disaster.

Submodule 5: Early Physiological Signals:Reading Behaviour Before Biology Fails. Transition from reactive crisis management to proactive prevention.

Submodule 6: Clinical Risk Stacking: Anatomy, Obesity, and Compound Odds. Master the clinical mechanics behind elevated breed risk profiles.

Submodule 7: Actionable Prevention & The Emergency Protocol:Evidence-Based Toolkit & Myth-Busting.

Dismantle heat safety myths
Learn to calculate true "Red Light Days" by stacking cumulative risk factors, implement custom sport and transport protocols, and execute the life-saving Recognize, Remove, Cool, Call, Transport emergency sequence because every second counts.

The choice is simple: You can rely on wall thermometers and generic warnings and half the information, or you can gain the clinical insight required to protect your dog in any environment, at any temperature, for the rest of their life.
