A little personal note 💛
I wanted to share something a little more personal than my usual class posts.
I’m currently experiencing a bereavement following the sudden loss of a very special family friend, the lovely local Martin Brindley. Many of you will know exactly who I mean, and will know what a much-loved and well-known part of our local community he was.
Martin was my neighbour when I was growing up and has been a friend and source of support to my family for many, many years. His loss has been a real shock, and he will be incredibly missed.
With our themed classes and final week before the summer break coming up, I still really want to be there. I think being with all of you, bringing a bit of joy, and doing what I love will actually be a really good thing for me.
But I also wanted to say that I might not be quite my usual self. Things may not be quite as perfectly organised as I normally try to make them, I may forget what I’m doing more than usual and if I seem a little distracted or off-colour, you’ll know why.
I’m sure anyone who has experienced a loss will understand that sometimes you just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other, while also allowing yourself to have moments of sadness.
So yes, I’ll still be there, still ready to dance, stretch and laugh with you all - I might just be doing it with a slightly foggier brain than usual💛
Thank you, as always, for being such a lovely, supportive bunch. It means more than you probably realise xx
My love goes to his brilliant daughter Amber, and to all of his family and loved ones ###
