A little personal note 💛

I wanted to share something a little more personal than my usual class posts.

I’m currently experiencing a bereavement following the sudden loss of a very special family friend, the lovely local Martin Brindley. Many of you will know exactly who I mean, and will know what a much-loved and well-known part of our local community he was.

Martin was my neighbour when I was growing up and has been a friend and source of support to my family for many, many years. His loss has been a real shock, and he will be incredibly missed.

With our themed classes and final week before the summer break coming up, I still really want to be there. I think being with all of you, bringing a bit of joy, and doing what I love will actually be a really good thing for me.

But I also wanted to say that I might not be quite my usual self. Things may not be quite as perfectly organised as I normally try to make them, I may forget what I’m doing more than usual and if I seem a little distracted or off-colour, you’ll know why.

I’m sure anyone who has experienced a loss will understand that sometimes you just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other, while also allowing yourself to have moments of sadness.

So yes, I’ll still be there, still ready to dance, stretch and laugh with you all - I might just be doing it with a slightly foggier brain than usual💛

Thank you, as always, for being such a lovely, supportive bunch. It means more than you probably realise xx

My love goes to his brilliant daughter Amber, and to all of his family and loved ones ###

Yogis! I’ve a new class theme for you this week! ✨

I’ve called it ‘what you k-need to know’ 😅

All about how to safely use your knees in yoga. They’ll be hip opening postures and tips for all those dodgy knees out there! (And how to stop them getting dodgy 🤣).
See you later 🤗

If you’ve not tried my yoga classes before, the official style is ‘Hatha yoga’. Essentially using the yoga postures and breath at a slower pace so we can both understand and challenge ourselves whilst having time to adapt to our own body ‘uniqueness’. I often theme classes around certain body areas, like this week so we can practice safely and enjoy it ✨

At Accidental Fitness we don’t just do fitness classes… we do socials too 🐐💚

Today’s social? Goat yoga at Chatsworth 😂

There was rain.
There was yoga.
There were goats climbing over people and demanding attention.
And honestly… it was brilliant.

Thank you to everyone who came along and fully embraced the madness, mud and mayhem with smiles and laughs all round. Days like this are such a lovely reminder that our community is about so much more than exercise ✨

Big thank you to Chatsworth House and rebecca_lee_close_yoga for hosting such a memorable experience 🙏

Tried to soak up the sunshine whilst doing admin today… ☀️
Turns out the sunshine came with a side of freezing wind, squinting at the laptop and chaotic hair! 🌪️

It got me thinking though - how often do we try to force something just because it looks like it should feel good?

Yoga reminds us it doesn’t have to be like that.
We don’t have to push into the stretch, chase the “perfect” pose, or convince ourselves we’re comfortable when we’re really not.

Sometimes the practice is simply noticing:
✨ This doesn’t feel right today
✨ I need to adjust
✨ I can do this differently

Whether it’s stepping out of the wind… or easing out of a pose…
Listening to your body is always the real win 💛

(Next time: a hat 🎅🏻)

Grey skies? Perfect yoga weather 🌥️🧘‍♀️

When everything feels a bit heavy and sluggish, yoga gently lifts you back up - stretching out tension, calming your mind, and bringing energy back into your body.

This week we’re giving a little extra love to our backs - building strength, improving posture, and easing those everyday aches from sitting, driving, and life-ing 😅

You don’t need sunshine to feel brighter… just a mat, a breath, and a little movement.

Come as you are- leave feeling lighter 😌

It’s always the little comments at the end of class that stay with me 💛

“That was just what I needed.”
“I feel so relaxed.”
“That was lovely.”
“I didn’t realise how much I needed that.”

This week especially… I’ve heard it a lot.

I purposely made our classes this week a little gentler - more free-flowing, easing through the body, mobilising the joints, creating space to breathe. Honestly, it’s what I needed… and I had a feeling you might too.

And judging by those end-of-class smiles and comments… I think we got it just right ✨

Yoga isn’t about pushing harder - sometimes it’s about softening, slowing down, and giving your body exactly what it’s been asking for.

We’ll be back on the mat again next week 💫
Come and join us - your space is there waiting.

As we step into a new year, we’re taking a moment to appreciate this one.
The practices shared, the growth (on and off the mat), and the space you help create each week.
Moving into the new year with gratitude, intention and curiosity 🤍✨
