Some days, parenting an autistic child isn’t just about appointments, meetings, sensory needs, meltdowns, paperwork, advocacy, or explaining your child to others.

It’s carrying a mental load that nobody else can see.

It’s constantly scanning environments before you arrive. Thinking three steps ahead. Worrying about whether your child will be understood, included, accepted, or supported. It’s researching late into the night, fighting battles behind closed doors, and carrying concerns that rarely leave your mind.

Many autism parents become planners, advocates, therapists, detectives, and protectors all at once.

And while there is so much joy, pride, and love in raising an autistic child, there can also be exhaustion from carrying responsibilities that others never notice.

If this resonates with you, please know you are not alone.

The invisible load is real.

I make no apologies about this visual being script heavy - there was so much needed to be acknowledged. If need be save the image and zoom in.

We were proud to support Cardiff Council in delivering the Period Dignity Project for 2025, helping to ensure that individuals across our communities have equitable access to essential period products.

We are an organisation committed to inclusion, wellbeing, and reducing barriers for neurodivergent individuals and their families, we recognise that period poverty can have a significant impact on confidence, health, and participation in everyday life. Through this collaboration, we were able to distribute free period products in a safe, accessible, and stigma-free way, ensuring that those who need support can access it with dignity.

Please visit our website to learn more and to watch a FREE webinar for parents and carers about menstruation, period products and how to support your child with periods.

Check out our Individualized Goal Rubric -

Not buzzwords - a true framework for making sure goals actually provide a pathway for useful support and meaningful outcomes.

We've got loads of free resources on the website including this one page rubric to ensure goals are truly individualized for a young person.

There's also a 8 page walk through of how we think of rewriting goals using the framework... rationale and humor included.

And, if you still want more, there is an entire Appendix in ENERGY: The Framework, Tools, Strategies & Logic to Support Regulation.

Will link all these resources in the comments...
