Since last summer, I’ve been on a weight lifting journey… and today I lost my first stone! 💪

I started lifting twice a week, but a few months in, life got complicated. Instead of giving up, I kept one session going—and that hour just for me saved me.

No wife
No daughter
No mum
No sister
No aunty
No niece
No friend
No colleague
No manager

Just ME!

Now it’s time to focus a bit more on my diet while keeping my fitness routine consistent.

My takeaway? Sometimes we aim for a “perfect” programme, but life doesn’t always cooperate—and that’s okay as long as we keep moving forward.

Start with what you can, be proud of it, and when you’re ready, add more. Fitness isn’t all-or-nothing.

Thanks for pushing me, kicking and screaming and a lot of forgetting to this place.

💡 Question for you: What are your favourite high-protein meals? I’m looking for ideas!

Some months remind us just how human we are

This past month has held a lot for me and my family — health worries, hospital stays and visits, loss, and the quiet emotional weight that comes with caring about the people we love

Today something small triggered a wave of feelings and I felt myself heading down that familiar rabbit hole of sadness

Even when you understand emotions… they can still catch you off guard

What I remind myself in moments like this is that feelings aren’t something to “fix” straight away Sometimes they simply need acknowledging

So today I paused, took a breath, and reminded myself:
This month was hard
And it’s okay to feel that

If you’re having one of those days too, be gentle with yourself
Emotions are not a sign we’re failing — they’re often a sign of how deeply we care

Happy Mothers Day to all the wonderful mums who feel and love too much 💛

I’ve been reflecting …

On conversations with women in their 40s and 50s — many of us juggling menopause, caring for parents, older children, work, and long-term relationships

A lot of us are saying the same thing:
we want less stress and more peace

Not because we don’t care — but because we’ve cared deeply for a very long time

If this resonates, you’re not alone
There’s nothing wrong with you for wanting life to feel calmer now

If this resonates with you — if you’ve felt that craving for calm, fairness, and peace — drop a ❤️ in the comments

You’re not alone, and it’s okay to want peace now

I’m still here.

I’ve been quiet on this page for a while, and I wanted to acknowledge that rather than just reappear.

The last year has been full. Alongside supporting my son’s music journey, I’ve been caring for both my parents — my mum living with Alzheimer’s, and my dad navigating serious health challenges.

I’ve also been tending to my own mental health, post-menopause changes, and the impact of long-term stress.

All of this has deepened, rather than diminished, my understanding of what it means to hold space — for ourselves and for others. Sometimes that work happens quietly, off social media.

I’m not “back” with pressure or perfection. I’m here — more slowly, more honestly.

Going forward, I’ll be sharing reflections from this season of life: around caregiving, creativity, identity, mental health, and resilience — as and when I’m able.

Thank you for being here. 🌱
