Keeping loaned equipment is costing someone their independence 😨

If you have a piece of Medequip equipment that has been loaned to you - please hand it back 🙏 Whether it’s crutches, hospital beds, commodes or walkers, these pieces of equipment can help someone else maintain their independence.

Check for a Medequip sticker, which will have a telephone number on that you can ring to arrange collection.

⚠️ As wildfires continue to affect parts of Wales, here are some simple reminders to help keep you and those around you safe.

Smoke from wildfires can irritate your eyes, nose and throat, and may cause coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath.

✅ Stay indoors and keep windows closed
✅ If you are travelling, keep your vehicle windows closed, and switch aircon to recirculation mode
✅ Keep inhalers and medication with you
☎️ If you have symptoms and they do not improve when inside, away from smoke or ash, ask for advice from your GP or NHS 111.

🚨 We are seeing an increase in reports of rogue traders in the areas of Chepstow, Portskewett and Caldicot

🗒️ Take these five steps to ward off rogue traders:
• Don't be pressured into saying yes to unnecessary work.
• Research the identity of a caller/company before making a decision.
• Never pay cash up front and never go to the bank or cash point with a trader.
• Always get three quotes from different companies before agreeing to have work done.
• Discuss the work and quote with a relative or a friend.

Sadly, anyone can become a victim to a rogue trader and feel pressured into paying too much money for unnecessary, low quality work. Remember the five steps if you are visited and asked if you'd like some work carried out on your property
