🌈✨ In a world that often rushes by, I’m learning to embrace the magic of being present. It’s so easy to get caught up in worries about the past or anxieties for the future, but today, I’m reminding myself to simply be. 🕊️

This beautiful watercolour serves as a gentle nudge to pause, breathe, and immerse myself in the here and now. The 80/20 Rule of Celebration! 🧁🎉

Birthday prep is in full swing! 🎂✨

Today, the kitchen has been filled with the comforting scent of vanilla and sugar as I baked a fresh batch of my Custard Sponge Cupcakes. This recipe is an absolute powerhouse - one batch beautifully yields 30 cupcakes (perfect for a school class) or two 20cm cake layers (safely tucked away for the big celebration tomorrow) plus these 6 bonus cupcakes on the cooling rack, perfect for a little preview tasting. 🤫🧁

Now, if you look up this recipe in The Cookbook on my website, you’ll notice something right away: it has a lot of sugar.

And as a Health Coach, I am completely okay with that. 🕊️🌱

True wellness isn't about rigid perfectionism or living in a state of constant restriction. It’s about the 80/20 rule. It’s about building a solid, regulated foundation of nourishing whole foods most of the time, so that when a special family birthday arrives, we can step into the joy of celebration fully and without a shred of guilt.

The last time I took a "digital break" because of a holiday, it accidentally lasted six months! 🫣⛳

Last week, we stepped entirely away from the screens to focus 100% on family, fun, and a bit of holiday silliness. It was deeply needed. But I have to admit, finding the momentum to get back to writing and diving back into work after a truly relaxing break is always a challenge. The friction of the return is real.

Digital pauses are so vital for regulating our nervous systems, but pulling yourself out of the slow, present flow of family time and shifting back into a busy creative routine takes a massive amount of conscious energy. 🕊️✨

Sometimes, re-entering work feels a bit like a game of mini-golf: you have to carefully reset your aim, navigate a few unexpected obstacles, and trust that even a slow, gentle tap will eventually get you to the destination.

We have a busy couple of weeks ahead on the home front with big family birthdays to celebrate, so this week is all about a gentle re-entry. No rushing, no pressure - just finding the rhythm again, one step at a time. 🏛️🎂

The "Bespoke" Carrot Cake 🥕✨
