Healthy eating
A nutritious, balanced and varied diet contributes significantly to good health. A balanced, good diet is especially important if you’re planning a pregnancy as your baby relies on you to provide the right balance of nutrients to help them grow and develop properly (even after they’re born).

The more active you are during your pregnancy the easier you will find it to adjust to the naturally occurring changes in pregnancy including a change in shape and weight gain. It will also help you to cope with labour and get back into shape after your baby is born. If exercising with an instructor let them know are pregnant. If you are new to exercising start slowly and build up gradually.
A gradual return to exercise after birth is recommended but it should not involve high-impact exercises or sit-ups too quickly, to allow your stomach and pelvic floor muscles to recover

As a Trust we would advise new parents not to co sleep, as there are greater risks of injury and sudden infant death syndrome of the baby.

However, we understand that this may be a choice that works for some families and we want to make sure if you do choose to co sleep, you do so in the safest way to reduce these risks.

The Lullaby Trust have an extensive range of information to help you keep your baby's sleep safer.
