Golfers - can you do these 4 things?
If not then you need a professional movement assessment and plan, as you’re limiting yourself performance wise and at a higher risk of injury (particularly lower back pain)!
1. In a golf set up position, can you tuck and untuck the pelvis without moving the upper body? With no shaking/shuddering, pain or tightness?
2. In a golf posture again with one leg isolated can you fully rotate your hip either direction >60 degrees without pain or pinching, are they equal?
3. Sat on the corner of a chair or bed, knees together and feet crossed can you rotate the upper body and shoulders more than 45 degrees to go past the line you’re turning to?
4. Over head mobility - with your back and bum against the wall, feet slightly away, tuck the tailbone to flatten the lower back against the wall. Now, with the arms straight and lower back pressed against the wall, can you touch your thumbs to the wall above your head without bending the arms?
