Meniere's disease is one of those conditions that can take a long time to put a name to.

The symptoms — vertigo, a ringing or buzzing sound in the ear, muffled hearing, and a feeling of pressure or fullness — can each occur with other conditions, which means they're sometimes investigated separately before anyone joins the dots.

If you or someone close to you has been experiencing episodes that combine two or more of those symptoms, it's worth reading our guide to Meniere's disease. We cover what the condition is, what causes it, what the symptoms look like in practice, and what the right next steps are.

There's no cure, but Meniere's can often be managed well with the right support.

Your hearing aids should keep up with your life — and today, the best ones do.

Modern AI-powered hearing aids listen to the world around you, recognise whether you're in a busy restaurant, a moving car or a quiet room, and adjust automatically to give you the clearest sound possible. No fiddling with settings. No missing punchlines. Just more natural, comfortable hearing wherever you are.

We've written a plain-English guide explaining how it all works — and what it means for real, everyday listening.

They're back! 🏠

Every year, we look forward to the return of our house martin residents, and we're delighted to say they've made themselves at home in the eaves again this season.

House martins are on the Red List of Conservation Concern, which makes having them nest here something we're genuinely proud of. We're doing our best to keep things undisturbed for them while they settle in.

So if you visit us and notice the window ledges are looking a little less pristine than usual, now you know why. We think it's a very good reason.

🐦 Welcome back, little ones.

Most people understand that Bluetooth hearing aids connect to phones and TVs. What's harder to picture is what that actually feels like to live with.

Calls coming clearly into both ears instead of one. The TV at a volume that suits everyone in the room. Volume adjusted from your pocket without drawing attention. Less effort at the end of a long day of listening.

Our latest blog focuses on the real-world difference Bluetooth hearing aids make — not the spec sheet, but the everyday experience of using them.

If you or someone close to you has been wondering whether modern hearing aids could fit more naturally into daily life, this is a good place to start.

Bluetooth connectivity is available in many modern hearing aids, but not all of them. The style of hearing aid matters - and so does the balance between discretion, connectivity and battery life.

Behind-the-ear and receiver-in-canal styles tend to offer the strongest Bluetooth performance. Smaller in-the-canal styles can be more limited, and completely-in-canal designs typically don't support it at all.

Our latest blog walks through each style and what to realistically expect from each when it comes to wireless connectivity. Useful reading if you're weighing up the options, or if someone you know is trying to work out whether they can have both discretion and Bluetooth.

Hearing aids have come a long way. Today's Bluetooth-enabled models don't just amplify the world around you - they stream phone calls, TV audio, podcasts and music directly into both ears, processed in real time to suit your individual hearing.

Think of them as wireless earbuds that also happen to be precisely calibrated to the way you hear.

Our latest blog explains what Bluetooth hearing aids are, what they connect to, and how the technology actually works - without the jargon.

Worth a read if you're exploring your options, or if someone you know has been asking whether modern hearing aids can keep up with their lifestyle.

That's one of the most common reasons people wait longer than they need to, and it's completely understandable.

Ever wished you could just tune into the sound around you, without fiddling with connections or hunting for a hearing loop sign?

That's the idea behind Auracast, a newer Bluetooth technology that lets compatible hearing aids connect directly to audio broadcasts in public spaces, like airports, theatres, and gyms. Several leading hearing aid brands already support it, and more are on the way.

We've put together a clear, jargon-free guide to how it all works. Worth a read if you're curious about where hearing aid tech is heading.

👂 Saturday 9th May at 10:30am — last few places remaining!

Ever wondered why some people get on brilliantly with hearing aids, while others end up leaving them in a drawer? Our Lead Audiologist, Trevor Chapman, is going to answer exactly that.

At the angli-EAR Hearing Academy talk — "Why Some Hearing Aids Work Brilliantly… and Others End Up in the Drawer" — Trevor will explore why hearing is far more personal than most people realise, and what the difference between a life-changing hearing aid and an unused one often comes down to.

It's free to attend, relaxed in format, and there'll be plenty of time for your questions over a cup of coffee.
