Behind the scenes of our Clinical Research Facility.
Our staff photograph boards are regularly updated, along with other information boards around our units, but today was a big refresh. With a new font, colours and logo from our funders NIHR | Health & social care research means all 6 units needed a full overhaul. All ready to be displayed on Monday 👏

Throwback Tuesday. 27 July 2015, building work had started on our new 6 story building dedicated to delivery clinical research.
In that time not only have we opened the Cambridge Clinical Research Building (home of Clinical Research Facility: Cambridge ) but the Discovery centre AstraZeneca Royal Papworth Hospital Cambridge University Hospitals built yet either. Life changing research 🤩 proud to play apart of it

Almost 6 million people in the UK are living with diabetes.

For a long time, managing the condition meant a relentless cycle of finger-prick blood tests, precise carbohydrate counting, and manual insulin injections.

Today, ground-breaking research is replacing much of that daily stress with automated, wearable technology.

In our NIHR20 Gamechanger, we’re showcasing how research is making a difference to people living with diabetes.

7 members of our team travelled to for this years UKCRF Network Conference: Two Islands, Many Voices. We presented summer school sessions in Emergency Simulation Training, ATIMPs, Collaborative working, Patient Public Involvement and Engagement, research inclusion, Leadership Development for CRF workforce and not forgetting, Industry partnerships.
Not finishing there, we only went and won two out of five poster presentations
Thank you so much to the Dublin and wider Irish teams both Republic of and Nothern.
Thank you so much for having us, until next year!

Cambridge South train station is officially open and is only a short walk away from our Clinical Research Facility, great if you want to avoid parking on an ever growing campus.

Cambridge South is a destination station with trains from London, Birmingham and Stansted Airport, on the doorstep of the Biomedical Campus

The station has two storeys with four platforms, ticket vending machines, lifts and facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.

Today we are celebrating . Thank you to some of our CRF team for taking time out of their day to take photos. You are brilliant!

What is ?

A day to celebrate and bringing everyone together who is: participating, supporting, and undertaking research.

From looking after our volunteers delivering research to everyone behind the scenes, incredible research teams collectively work on health and social care research.

The Research & Development community is innovative, flexible and dynamic. Research doesn’t just happen though, people make it happen – research participants, patients, professionals, volunteers and regulatory bodies all collectively working together.

Our participants and patients are incredibly generous with their time and often go above an beyond to say thank you to members of our team, as we really do get to know some of them well if they are on a long term study.
This week we received a wonderful gesture that we are able to share with you.
Joy baked and hand delivered this amazing cake to say thank you to our team. Joy, I can tell you, your marble cake did not hang around for long and was delicious!
Thank you so much for thinking of us
