Denver’s story 💙
“Talk to someone. You don’t have to go through it on your own.”
For Denver, talking about grief, depression and su***de is an important part of breaking down the stigma that can stop people from reaching out for support.
Through his story, Denver is also shining a light on the positive impact of Fishing Buddies, a community group supporting men’s mental health through friendship, connection and time spent together.
Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. It takes place globally each year to raise awareness of su***de, reduce stigma, and encourage action on su***de prevention.
STOP Su***de is an award-winning su***de prevention campaign that seeks to empower communities and individuals across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to help stop su***des by being alert to the warning signs, asking directly about su***de and helping those who are feeling suicidal to stay safe.
It is led by Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire Mind (CPSL Mind) and supported by local NHS and Public Health teams.
The campaign message is: One conversation can save a life. Talking openly, asking someone how they are and letting them know they’re not alone can make all the difference.
For free-to-attend online open courses for individuals, visit: cpslmind.org.uk/courses/stop-su***de-workshop/ For group bookings, please enquire via [email protected]
If you're experiencing mental health challenges or you're supporting someone, know that you don't have to go through it alone. Support is available. 💙
