Alex Wood House Alex Wood is an exceptional care home in Cambridge with a superb reputation, offering person-centred residential/dementia care, and short-stay respite breaks.

The team pride themselves on the home's family feel and look forward to welcoming you soon! Alex Wood House is a residential care home for older people situated in Arbury on the north-eastern side of Cambridge, three miles from the City centre. It is a well designed, purpose-built home with attractive landscaped gardens. There are 36 single rooms, all with en-suite facilities to accommodate residents who are frail, elderly and may have a diagnosis of dementia. The facilities include a ground floor
dementia unit consisting of twelve rooms, with a specialist team of staff dedicated to caring for and supporting these residents. The dementia unit is fully equipped for those who have higher
support needs and benefits from a sensory room and a reminiscence room. The remaining 24 rooms are for older people who require care in a residential setting. In order to ensure peace of mind, all rooms are linked to a call system when staff assistance is
required. The home is fully wheelchair accessible. Bedrooms are close to shared living and dining rooms. In addition, all bathrooms are
equipped with adapted fittings for an improved quality of life. There is also a day centre for over 65’s where people from the local community can meet and share interests.

We had a wonderful time celebrating one of our residents’ birthdays over the weekend with a beautiful homemade afternoon tea. 💐🍰

There were plenty of delicious treats, cups of tea, smiles and laughter as we celebrated this special day together. ❤️

It was such a lovely afternoon filled with friendship, family and happy memories too 🎉🥳 🎉

We’re getting ready for a lovely day at Alex Wood House tomorrow, and the kitchen team have been busy testing out the waffle machine! 🧇✨

Our New Home Manager Ryan was very happy to be today’s official taste tester… and we’re pleased to report the waffles got his seal of approval! 😋👏

Everyone is warmly invited to join us at our Macmillan Coffee Morning in collaboration with The Church of the Good Shepherd.

Come along for tea, coffee, delicious treats and good company, all whilst helping to raise money for an amazing cause. 💚

🎲 Bingo will be running from 2pm – 3pm, so come along and join in the fun! There may even be some great prizes to be won! 🎉

🍰 Baked goods donations are very welcome and greatly appreciated. If you’re able to donate cakes, biscuits or any other homemade goodies, we would be incredibly grateful.

We would like to invite you to our upcoming Meet the Manager event on 12th September, and be part of our 'waffle day' celebrations. It's also a wonderful opportunity to meet our New Manager Ryan, discover more about the care options at Alex Wood House and hear about our recent 2-Gold Stars award in the National Dementia Care Accreditation Scheme.

The Alex Wood House team will also be on hand to take you on a tour of the home and answer any questions you may have.
