An amber heat health alert is in place for our region from 09:00 tomorrow (Wednesday 29 July) until 09:00 on Thursday 30 July.☀️
Temperatures are expected to exceed 30°C in some areas.
Please take extra care if you're visiting our hospitals, bring bottled water with you and allow extra time to get to your appointment so you don't need to rush.
Hot weather can affect anyone, but older people, young children, pregnant women and those with underlying health conditions are at greater risk of becoming unwell.
Remember during heatwaves to:
-Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated💧
-Wear loose, lightweight clothing and a hat if you're outdoors 🧢
-Avoid long periods outdoors, particularly during the hottest parts of the day (11:00am-03:00pm) ☀️
-Check in on older relatives and vulnerable people, friends, neighbours 👵
Please look after yourself and others, and follow the latest advice to stay safe in the heat. 💙
