***NEW CLASS STARTING THIS AUTUMN***
11am on Tuesday mornings with Becca Harrison

Many of us spend years in a “fight or flight” state without even noticing it. Gentle Hatha Yoga is an invitation to step out of that pattern. When you give your body and mind time to reset, you can hear yourself more clearly. From there, you can make choices that move you toward real well-being, not just getting through the day. This is not a “less than” version of yoga. It is a wise and compassionate way to practice.

Gentle hatha yoga is suitable for complete beginners, people who feel stressed/overwhelmed or “on” all the time, seniors and older adults, anyone recovering from injury or living with limited mobility and also experienced practitioners who want a softer practice. It includes slower movements, simple transitions, poses chosen for accessibility - not intensity and attention to how each posture feels as opposed to how it looks. The class closes with some mindful moments to rest and absorb the practice.

Physical benefits include increased strength and stability, better flexibility, healthier joints and improved posture and alignment. Mental and emotional benefits include reduced stress and anxiety, better sleep, a clearer sense of what you feel in your own body and improved concentration and presence.

In Gentle Hatha Yoga, breath is not an afterthought. It is the base of the whole practice. This simple coordination turns movement into a kind of moving meditation. When the breath becomes slower and more steady, the parasympathetic nervous system begins to engage. This is the part of your system that helps you rest, digest, and repair. Muscles let go, the jaw softens, and the mind starts to quiet. Many students are surprised by how different they feel after even a short, gentle practice with focused breathing.

This class will provide a welcoming space where you feel seen and included and nourishing way to care for yourself that does not require extreme effort.

All welcome! Class starts on Tuesday 8th September 💛

🪚🪏SATYAM PRACTICALITIES ⛏️🔧

Now that we are operating out of just one small premises, as many of you will know, we no longer have an office. This means it is not possible for us to take payments at the centre, and we also no longer have an office landline number for you to contact us on.

We also no longer have a lounge area, or space for you to wait if you arrive early for your class.

So here are some of the practicalities to bear in mind with the new set up:

⏰ In as many cases as possible, we have scheduled a half an hour gap between classes. This gives 15 minutes for one class to tidy up and leave, and then 15 minutes for the next class to arrive.

🧚🏽So please DON’T arrive more than 15 minutes before your class starts

💻 Please DO book your classes in advance of arriving at Satyam, and try to purchase all passes and drop-ins online in advance of your class.

🕹️ If you struggle to navigate our booking system (the name of which is Wellness Living), or make an online payment, then please contact us and we will help.

⚙️Please note our booking system (Wellness Living) is different to our website (www.satyamyogacentre.co.uk), though the booking system is integrated into our Timetable and our Courses & Events page of the website.

📱Our app - ‘Satyam Yoga & Wellbeing Centre’ available from your App Store - is a quick and easy way to make payments and book classes.

📧 If you need to contact us then you can email us at [email protected], and we will support you. Bear in mind this inbox is staffed just by one person (me, Chiraswa!), so if it is non-urgent it may take us a couple or even a few days to respond.

☎️ If it is urgent, e.g relating to a booking that day, then you can contact us on our new mobile number! 07940 584716. Please drop us a WhatsApp message. Our preference is this rather than calling us, but if you do need to speak to someone then call us!

💯 We can add passes to your account for you and send you a link to payment, so if you are struggling, please don’t be put off!

We want to make things as smooth as possible for you all, but it is a work in progress. So please do feed back to us how your experience is!

Thank you!! 🧚🏽

Join us for a celebration of the arrival of autumn! Gabriela will be guiding a beautiful half-day retreat at Satyam on Sunday 20th September from 2pm - 6pm.

🍂🍃

As the Autumn Equinox marks the delicate pause between light and the dark before autumn takes hold, we gather to honour the transition from the outward energy of summer into the quieter, more reflective season ahead.

Together, we will create a beautiful autumnal altar using seasonal elements from nature, fruits, and vegetables to celebrate the abundance and harvest of the year. An energising yoga practice will help us embody gratitude, vitality, and balance before we pause for tea and connection.

The second half of our retreat invites a deeper turning inward through therapeutic movement, deep rest, Yoga Nidra, contemplation, and guided reflection. We will explore what it means to release, replenish, and embrace the wisdom that emerges in the darkening part of the year.
Join us for an afternoon of movement, ritual, reflection and connection as we journey from Light to Darkness.

All are welcome to this nourishing celebration 🪶🍃

£65 with concession and solidarity options.

***NEW CLASS!!!*** Vinyasa Fundamentals
Saturdays 11am - 12pm with Miguel Torres

This isn’t simply a “basics” class—it is a masterclass in the structural integrity, discipline, and power of the Vinyasa practice. This class is for beginners and for lifelong yogis who want to revisit the basics.

In this Saturday session, we key in on the mechanics of each foundational posture and the respect owed to the transitions between them. You will learn to integrate your breath as both the support system and the guide.

Without the momentum of a fast-paced flow, you will be able to explore asanas slowly and with an intensity where your muscles will work.

Within this challenging practice, you will be reminded to listen to your body - making mindful adjustments to ensure a practice of safety and structure.

This session calls on us to cultivate precision and focus, listening to our intuition and moving with intention. We will work hard, we will sweat and we will strengthen trust in our foundations

Honour the practice. Honour yourself 🙏🏽

Miguel is known for his positive nature and challenging classes. Yoga allows Miguel a practice of self-care, presence, and physical stamina. He is a laid-back Southern California native who, despite growing up with the beach, is in love with the Scottish Highlands. He applies a healthy dose of discipline and respect to his yoga practice balanced with enjoyment and playfulness. Miguel encourages yoga practitioners to breathe consciously, sharpen their focus, and have fun.

Miguel just completed a Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counselling from the College of William and Mary in the United States. He incorporates many principles from this degree into his yoga classes to add another layer of depth and understanding of self for students.

He is looking forward to welcoming you to his new class on Saturday 5th September! 🙌🏽

13/08/2026

If Satyam is an ecosystem, then those of you who come to the centre to attend our classes and events, and who spend your money with us - you are the air that we breathe, and you provide the oxygen that we need to survive.

With our premises changes, it has given us the chance to do some other reorganisation of our business, to make it a more financially sustainable system for all of us involved. In this new model we will be splitting our income with the teachers, who will benefit more directly from their class takings (rather than it all going on high rent costs!). So when you are buying a pass from us, you are paying your teacher directly for their labour ✌🏽

In light of this, some changes to our payment system are upcoming from September:

~ We will no longer be offering the unlimited monthly pass, but….. the 20 Class Pass is back 🙌🏽

~ Our New Client Introductory Offer will now be the Satyam Taster Pass - 4 classes valid for 4 weeks (still £30) 👍🏽

~ We will continue to have our 4 tiered pricing system, with the Standard Rate, the Support Rate, the Solidarity Rate, and the Sponsor Rate

~ To access the concession rate, this means that you are on a low income (this includes students and pensioners), and we ask that you contact us and we will add the ‘Support’ status to your account so that you can access the Concession 10 Class Pass (we will no longer have a 5 or 20 class concession pass)

~ The Solidarity Pass is for those of you who face barriers to attending a space like Satyam, due to marginalisation based on race, class, sexuality, disability, etc. For access to this we have a form to complete

~ Our Monday and Friday Community classes are donation based from £5, but we welcome you to pay £10, £15 or £20 if you can afford to (and you can ask use your usual Satyam pass)

~ For those receiving a higher income, we have a Sponsor Pass (10 classes for £142), which supports us to supplement the solidarity members of our community✊🏽

We are a very small business that relies on our community to keep us going. Buy a pass, gift a friend a Taster Pass, sign up to a course or an event. You breathe the life force into Satyam! 🕉️💜🙏🏽

In our beautiful new and improved studio space we have a beautiful new prop storage 🙌🏽 This was made for us by Cambridge, who gets around Cambridge to build his carpentry creations all on his bike 🚲

This is customised storage for all of our props, designed by us, for the purpose of keeping the props that we all use in good condition and order.

You’ll have heard me (Chiraswa) over the years giving regular reminders on folding the blankets in a careful and mindful way (making the first fold along the long edge), and stacking them neatly with the folded edge on the outside; or asking you to pay attention as you roll your yoga belt, or place your eye pillow evenly down into the basket…. 🧺. You may have rolled your eyes a few times as I reminded you to place the heavy bolsters on the bottom so that the bolsters don’t get squashed and ruined 💟 or to ensure that the blocks don’t get mixed up with the bricks and the bricks don’t get mixed up with the blocks ✌🏽

And perhaps you have heard us go on about practising Karma Yoga at the end of a class, which is the yoga of action. With this practice, we bring yoga into our daily tasks and duties, allowing a meditative awareness to accompany us through our lives 🙌🏽🕉️

This prop storage is for all of us to enjoy. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with it, and to note how and where to place the props at the end of your class. We soooooooooo appreciate your being part of the harmonious flow of Satyam, and if you haven’t been into the studio since our transformation, then come on over. Everyone is welcome ###

P.s and we highly recommend Steve at for his high quality craftmanship👌🏽

29/07/2026

These past few weeks we have been working intensely hard to clear our large premises, ready to return the keys, so that the new tenants can move into the space to continue their important work.

The large, beautiful sunlit upstairs studio, which has held so many amazing classes, will now be used to hold amazing workshops and courses for women who have had to deal with the dangerous realities of domestic abuse. The Wellbeing Room and Floatation Studio, used for so many years as a sanctuary for calm, healing and peace, will serve as one-to-one spaces to support women who have been released from prison and are now trying to build their lives. The lounge where we once sipped herbal teas and where so many friendships were formed, will now be filled with the chatter and laughter of women coming together to support or be supported by the amazing charity that is the Cambridge Women’s Resources Centre.

Knowing that all of the good energy that we have cultivated in that space over the past ten years, will now be passed onto this charity, fills us with relief, satisfaction and pride.

And just across the road, Satyam will keep on keeping on.

We have been busy making the studio feel functional and nourishing, with a beautiful new prop storage, a reorganisation of our props and cupboards, and the presence of Ganesha and plants to bless the space.

Today we said goodbye to number 2-4. And we came home again to The Studio Across the Road, to be known from now on, just as ‘Satyam’.

Full Moon Blessings! 🌝 Happy Guru Purnima - may we continue to shine the light of the teachings of yoga, so that you can be guided home to your own light 💫
