On 7 August 2026, NNEdPro Global Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health Global Institute, in collaboration with the Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (IPGME&R) and SSKM Hospital, and the Indian Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (IAPEN) Kolkata Chapter, hosted the Masterclass Symposium 2026.
Bringing together clinicians, dietitians, researchers, educators, public health professionals and students, the symposium provided a valuable platform for scientific exchange, interdisciplinary dialogue and shared learning.
The programme explored emerging approaches to cardiometabolic disease through expert lectures and interactive panel discussions covering Type 1 diabetes, micronutrients, precision nutrition, GLP 1 therapies, obesity management, metabolic surgery and the growing role of the gut microbiome. Across these discussions, one message stood out: the importance of translating evolving evidence into integrated, patient centred care.
The symposium also marked a meaningful departure from tradition. Rather than ceremonial lamp lighting, the event began with the watering of a living plant, symbolising the nurturing of knowledge and sustainable growth. Speakers, chairs and moderators were also presented with plant saplings as tokens of appreciation, reflecting the hope that the ideas, conversations and collaborations fostered through the symposium will continue to grow beyond the event.
We were honoured to welcome an exceptional faculty and grateful to all our speakers, chairs, moderators, panellists, organising committee members, volunteers, partners and delegates who contributed to such a vibrant and successful day.
As the conversation continues, we look forward to developing the key discussions and recommendations from the symposium into a proceedings publication in BMJ Nutrition, Prevention & Health, helping extend these insights to a wider global audience.
