Weekend Well-being Reflections:
I'm celebrating Lughnasadh, the first of the pagan harvest celebrations, on a narrow boat. I'm unfeasibly excited about this holiday! Partly because it's on a boat (proper Wind in the Willows stuff), partly because it's with one of my besties and her husband (he's just accepted I'm part of the package) and partly because it's my first holiday in 4 years having spent all my savings training as a therapist! I'm absolutely loving waking up by water and being so close to nature. I'm grateful for everything life has provided for me and reaping the benefits of all my inner work. Enjoy the sunshine and don't forget to remind yourself of the little things that bring you joy.

Symbols - mandalas:
The mandala holds a central place in Carl Jung's psychology as the most powerful visual symbol of psychic wholeness.
The mandala is present in many Eastern religious traditions as a graphic symbol of the universe.
In Jungian psychology, the mandala can be seen as the psyche's expression of Self, an attempt to heal itself and create order out of chaos and turmoil. Mandalas are spontaneous productions of the unconscious, showing the rational mind a visual expression of our Self and reminding us that our inner core holds strong.

(Late) Weekend Well-being Reflections:
The summer holidays are here and the opportunity for play opens right up! We all thrive with the opportunity to play more, especially outside in contact with nature. It is a time for children to build dens, climb trees and fail at things, which in turns builds resilience. It is an opportunity to learn skills outside of the school curriculum. Through play children and young people learn to be creative, to problem solve, negotiate, collaborate, and connect. All skills that they will need for their futures. There is so much pressure on parents to show a deep investment in their child's education through preparing for performances in tests, and not enough support to enable parents to allow play to lead the way. Play is how children learn and playing in nature also supports wellbeing. I know I'm looking forward to more time to play and be in nature.

Showcasing kit: Stories part 2 - uncomfortable feelings: fear, worry, anger, loneliness ๐Ÿ“š
Here are a few more of my favourite therapeutic stories supporting children and young people with some of our most uncomfortable feelings. Again, the power of sharing stories with a trusted adult, and talking openly about how everyone has these feelings, is so healing.

Weekend Well-being Reflections:
This weekend has been an opportunity for some genuine 'me time'. As well as attending Annette Graham's extraordinary and powerful 'Womb Rites' ceremony, I have also finished this moving and beautiful book. Both the ceremony and the book have enabled me to reconnect with meaning and gratitude in my day to day life. Living with purpose and empowerment is a blessing.

Showcasing kit: Stories part 1 - exploring feelings ๐Ÿ“š
There are so many beautiful books out there, but these are a few of my favourites for younger children. I would also highly recommend Charlie Mackesy's books for older children who can explore feelings on a more subtle level. Sharing a book with a trusted adult also deepens connections and helps develop emotional literacy. The more children are able to name and talk about their feelings with a trusted adult, the more control they build to manage them.

Weekend Well-being Reflections:
Feeling blessed to have Flint Essence on my doorstep. I enjoyed a wonderful morning of outdoor yoga in the shade, followed by delicious homemade cakes and tea, and finishing with Hekate and Ivy's immersive sound bath in the studio. The perfect way to unwind. โ˜บ๏ธ
