“I don’t have 10 minutes to myself”
I hear women say this to me all the time
And I think “What an earth?!” 👀
What I really want to say is “don’t be so utterly ridiculous” 🤣
But I don’t because I know there’s something else going on here beyond “I’m too busy”
Because we are not living in a world where you’re hand washing clothes and putting them through a mangle 🤣
And yet somehow 10 minutes for yourself feels impossible 😩
And I’m not saying this to judge you, not at all
Because sometimes you’re so used to DOING that BEING feels completely alien
You can be stuck in a cycle of fight, flight, freeze or fawn, constantly responding, fixing, organising, anticipating, pleasing, achieving or keeping everything moving
And when you finally have a moment to stop, you don’t know what to do with yourself
So you scroll, you procrastinate, you find another job to do, anything to avoid sitting still with your own thoughts
But you’re stuck. And the irony is that rest can feel uncomfortable when your nervous system has become accustomed to being busy
So maybe it’s not about finding more time. Maybe it’s about learning how to RECEIVE care, love and kindness from yourself
And this is where my Venus in Ta**us really comes in. And I’m really good at this, teaching you how to receive without the guilt and to really enjoy life’s little luxuries. I’ve been doing this my whole life thinking it’s what everyone does! Apparently not!
Your own wellbeing doesn’t need to be another thing you DO. Sometimes it’s something you FEEL
You don’t need to wait for the perfect moment to begin (it doesn’t btw) you just need to decide to make a tiny change
You don’t need permission to pause, stop or rest and you dont need to earn it or justify it
I’ve created Daily Devotions inside my online wellbeing membership, tiny, beautiful practices of 15 minutes or less
Because maybe the question isn’t “How can I find 10 minutes?”
Maybe it’s “Why do I keep believing that 10 minutes for me is too much to ask?”
My online membership has 50% off until 31st August, that’s £14.50 for your first month
