Did you know sexual health clinics are free and available to everyone, no matter your age, gender, ethnicity or sexuality?

You can get tests and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and advice about contraception. Some clinics provide additional services too.

There have been around 14 million consultations through the pharmacy first service since it launched in February 2024.

You can get treatment for these conditions from your local community pharmacist, including some prescription medicine, if needed – without you seeing a GP.

From this autumn, participating pharmacies will be able to assess and treat 5 additional common conditions:

- migraine in adults
- outer ear infections in adults
- acne in young people and adults
- mild skin infections and scabies
- seasonal allergic rhinitis in children

Today marks the start of Palliative Care Week so we're here to share what exactly is palliative care.

It may be thought that palliative care is only for people at the end of their lives. But this isn't always the case. You can have palliative care alongside cancer treatments that aim to help you live longer. Some treatments can control or reduce symptoms such as pain, nausea and loss of appetite. You may have palliative care at home, in a hospital, at a care home or in a hospice.

Do you have a stoma?

Come along to Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust’s Stoma Open Day to meet others with a stoma, speak to our specialist team and get expert advice and support.

There will be a range of stands on the day, including stoma companies, support wear and charities, as well as the opportunity to speak to nurses and consultants from our stoma team.

The event is open to anyone with a stoma, along with their carers, friends and family.
