Welcome to Quinn’s Therapy! 🧠✨

Where, in a nutshell, we focus on helping children & teenagers feel calmer, more confident & emotionally supported.

I offer compassionate online therapy supporting children, teenagers, and families experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, ADHD-related challenges, school stress, and low confidence. All whilst creating a safe and supportive space where young people feel heard, understood, and empowered to build emotional confidence and healthier coping strategies.

If this sounds like something you/your family need, send me a message- let’s connect! ✨

Does every simple request become a battle?

Try one clear instruction, curiosity before judgement and specific praise when things go well.

Understanding behaviour doesn’t mean removing boundaries, it means helping your child succeed.

Your child isn’t lazy, deliberately ignoring you or trying to make everything difficult.

ADHD can affect working memory, task initiation, emotional regulation and the ability to shift attention. Understanding this doesn’t mean removing boundaries—it means giving support that actually helps your child succeed.

4 things to say in a meltdown, and 4 to never say. 👇

If your child’s mid-meltdown, what you say matters less than you’d think, and more than you’d think, all at once. The words that actually reach a dysregulated brain aren’t complicated. They’re just not the ones we default to under stress.

Save this one for next time. And if you want more of this, real, practical support, not just theory, I’ve built a space for exactly that. Link in bio. 💛

5 signs it’s anxiety in disguise.

3 things that make transitions easier, for any child, any age.

1. A 2-minute warning before the change.
2. “First this, then that” said out loud.
3. A physical cue, a timer, a song, a countdown on fingers.

Small shifts. Big difference in how the transition actually lands.

Uncertainty can feel overwhelming for anxious and autistic children.

A simple visual schedule or a quick “what’s happening today” conversation can make the day feel more predictable and manageable.

You’re not giving in to anxiety. You’re giving their brain the information it needs to feel safer.

Your child is not their anxiety.

There is a subtle but important difference between saying:

“You’re anxious.”

And:

“Anxiety is really loud today.”

The second separates the child from what they are experiencing. Anxiety becomes something that is affecting them, not part of who they are.

Some children find it helpful to give their anxiety a name, such as the Anxiety Gremlin, the Worry Monster or Bossy Brain. They could even draw what they imagine it looks like.

Then you can begin exploring it together:

“What is the Anxiety Gremlin telling you?”

“What does it want you to avoid?”

“Do we have to do what it says?”

Externalising anxiety isn’t about pretending it isn’t real. It helps children step back from it, understand it and recognise that they don’t have to believe or obey everything anxiety tells them.

Try asking your child what they would call their anxiety, and let me know what they choose.

Save this to try later.

🎉 The Quinn's Parent Hub is officially open! If you're parenting a child with SEMH or SEND needs, you already know how isolating it can feel, even when you're surrounded by people who love you.

I'm Siobhan, a children's CBT therapist, and I've built a private WhatsApp community for parents who want real, ongoing support, not just another Facebook group full of conflicting advice.

There are three tiers, so you can join at whatever level of support feels right for you:

🟢 Tier 1 — Private community access, monthly resource packs, weekly voice notes with practical strategies, a monthly live Q&A, and connection with parents who genuinely get it.

🔵 Tier 2 — Everything in Tier 1, plus a fortnightly reflection form with an individual, personalised response from me every two weeks.

🟣 Tier 3 — Everything above, plus a monthly 60-minute 1:1 coaching session, a personalised action plan, and priority support. Tiers 2 and 3 give you more direct time with me, tailored support to help you truly understand what your child's behaviour is communicating.
