🚨 STOP STRETCHING EVERYTHING THAT HURTS.

We see this all the time.

Your back feels tight → you stretch it.
Your hamstring feels tight → you stretch it.
Your shoulders feel tight → you stretch them.

But here’s the thing…

Feeling tight doesn’t always mean you need more stretching.

Sometimes that “tight” feeling can be your body responding to weakness, fatigue, increased workload, or simply not being used to a particular movement.

Instead of constantly stretching the same area, it can be more useful to ask:

👉 Why does it keep feeling tight in the first place?

That’s where physiotherapy can help.

We can assess how you’re moving, identify what’s contributing to the problem, and build a plan around what your body actually needs, whether that’s mobility, strength, load management, or a combination.

So before you spend another 20 minutes stretching the same muscle…

Maybe it’s time to find out why it keeps feeling tight. 💙

📩 If you’re dealing with a persistent ache or recurring tightness, get in touch to book an assessment.

💻 Back to the Desk Tomorrow? Your Body’s Probably Not Looking Forward to It…

After a weekend of moving more, relaxing, and getting out of your normal routine, going straight back to hours at a desk can leave your body feeling stiff pretty quickly.

A lot of office workers notice:
• Tight shoulders
• Aching lower backs
• Neck tension
• Stiff hips by the end of the day

The good news? Small changes can make a big difference.

Tomorrow, try to:
✔️ Get up and move regularly
✔️ Avoid staying in one position too long
✔️ Stretch between meetings
✔️ Take short walking breaks
✔️ Keep your body moving throughout the day

Your body doesn’t need perfect posture all day it just needs movement so if those aches and pains keep returning every work week, it might be time to get them checked properly

🦵 Why Does Your Knee Hurt Going Up or Down Stairs?

If you notice knee pain when climbing stairs, squatting, or getting up from a chair then you’re definitely not alone.

A lot of people assume it means something is seriously damaged, but often it’s related to things like:

• Weakness around the hips or knees
• Reduced joint control
• Tight muscles
• Increased load through the joint over time

The good news is that many cases improve really well with the right combination of:
✔️ Strength work
✔️ Mobility exercises
✔️ Gradual loading
✔️ Movement advice

Pain with everyday movements isn’t something you should just “put up with.”

If your knees have been complaining lately, it might be time to give them some proper attention. Drop us a message to arrange an appointment

Shoulder pain when reaching overhead? It might be impingement. Here’s what you can do! 💪

Shoulder impingement happens when the space between the top of your shoulder blade (acromion) and the rotator cuff narrows, causing pain during movement - especially when lifting your arm, reaching behind your back, or sleeping on your side.

🔎 Common signs:
• Sharp pain lifting your arm above shoulder height
• Discomfort reaching behind you (e.g. putting on a coat)
• Weakness or stiffness in the shoulder

So what can help?
1. Posture reset – Try sitting tall and opening up the chest. Slouching narrows the joint space even more.

2. Strengthen the rotator cuff – Controlled rehab exercises build support and reduce impingement.

3. Mobilise the shoulder blade – Healthy shoulder blade movement = less strain on the joint.

4. Modify your movement – Avoid painful overhead lifting for now and try lower, pain-free ranges.

5. See a physio – Early guidance makes a huge difference in recovery time and avoiding chronic issues.

Movement is medicine but the right kind of movement is key.

⚠️ 3 Signs Your Body Might Need a Break This Weekend

It’s Friday, and after a busy week of work, training, or everyday life, your body might be telling you it’s time to slow down a little.

Here are three signs you might benefit from a bit of recovery this weekend:

1️⃣ Persistent soreness
If muscles or joints are still sore after a few days, your body may be asking for some rest.

2️⃣ Feeling stiff or tight
When simple movements start to feel restricted, it can be a sign you’ve been pushing a bit too hard.

3️⃣ Little niggles appearing
Small aches in the knees, shoulders, or back can sometimes be early warning signs of overload.

Taking some time over the weekend for light movement, stretching, a walk, or proper recovery can help your body reset for the week ahead.

And if those aches don’t settle, it might be worth getting them checked.

Have a great weekend and take care of your body! 💙

Back pain is one of the most common things we see in clinic.

Whether it’s from sitting too long, lifting at work, training at the gym, or something that’s slowly built up over time - back pain can affect anyone.

The good news is that in many cases, the right combination of movement, strength, and guidance can make a huge difference.

You don’t have to just “put up with it” or hope it settles on its own.

If your back has been bothering you for a while, it might be time to get it checked and start moving more comfortably again.

🏃‍♂️ “I’ll Start Moving Again When The Pain Goes Away…”

This is something we hear all the time but often, waiting for pain to completely disappear before moving again can actually keep you stuck in the cycle longer.

For many injuries and aches, the right kind of movement is part of the recovery process.

Gentle, guided movement can help:
✔️ Reduce stiffness
✔️ Improve strength
✔️ Increase confidence in movement
✔️ Support healing

That doesn’t mean pushing through sharp pain or jumping straight back into intense exercise, it’s about finding the right balance.

Your body is designed to move.
Sometimes it just needs the right support and progression to do it comfortably again and this is where we can help
