🚨 Urgent Prescription Collection Request 🚨

Keeping completed prescriptions in the pharmacy for long periods takes up valuable space and can make it more difficult for our team to prepare and organise new prescriptions.

Until our text notification service is launched, please allow 5 working days after ordering for your prescription to be ready for collection. Once this time has passed, we’d really appreciate you collecting your prescription at your earliest convenience. This helps us keep our shelves organised and continue preparing prescriptions efficiently for all our patients.

📢 Important Update for Our Patients

From Monday 17th August, we’ll be moving to a new pharmacy system.

As our team gets to grips with the new system, you may temporarily experience slightly longer waiting times. We really appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition.

One of the new features is prescription collection text notifications, which will let you know when your prescription is ready to collect! Please note that we won’t be able to update or check mobile numbers until the new system is live.

🌍 World Environment Day 🌍

At Pontprennau Pharmacy, we’re committed to finding ways to reduce waste and make our services more environmentally friendly.

One of the easiest ways patients can help is by using the NHS App to manage their prescriptions. Through the app, you can:

✅ Order repeat prescriptions
✅ Track the progress of your prescription request
✅ View your repeat medication list
✅ Manage your prescriptions anytime, anywhere

You can also help reduce paper use by nominating a pharmacy to receive your prescriptions electronically. If you haven’t already nominated a pharmacy, our team can help you set this up.

Electronic prescribing helps reduce paper waste and cuts down on unnecessary journeys between GP surgeries and pharmacies.

As more prescriptions are now sent electronically, we will gradually be reducing our collections of paper prescriptions from GP surgeries. This change supports a more efficient, sustainable service while ensuring patients continue to receive their medication as normal.

📌 Please note: When ordering your medication, please allow at least 5 working days before collection. This allows time for GP processing and our standard dispensing process once received.

📢 Urgent Prescription Collection Request 📢

We currently have a large number of prescriptions waiting to be collected and are running very low on storage space within the pharmacy.

If you have already ordered a prescription and it has been more than 5 working days since placing your order, we kindly ask that you collect it as soon as possible.

Please remember that prescriptions are usually ready for collection 5 working days after ordering, and prompt collection helps us ensure we have sufficient space to prepare and store medication for all our patients.
