Some of our ladies enjoyed a relaxing morning of Giant Dominoes today 😄
It was a lovely opportunity to bring people together over a well loved classic game. As well as social connection it also aids maths skills and problem solving

We enjoyed a craft session this morning creating flower collages using up cycled tissue paper and buttons.
Sorting the buttons into their colours, picking and designing their own pictures can help to encourage creativity and community.
It has also been proven that art can lift mood, lower stress and boost fine motor skills. All expressed they had enjoyed and looked forward to the next session 🎨

Here is our recent harvest of the veg that we have been growing over the summer; alongside our gardener.
Joan often asks ‘how are our potato’s growing?’ and loves to see the crop we have produced.
It sparks reminiscent memories of her ‘pinching the peas in her father’s garden’ and ‘eating tomato’s of the vine’. We can’t wait to enjoy them as part of our Sunday Lunch 😄🥔🫛

Sometimes it’s the small moments that matter the most; from tiny tablet fun, knit and natters to sing-along sessions.
Taking the time to get to know each resident is very valuable to us; helping them to enjoy their hobbies both as an individual and alongside others ❤️💃🧶

Our annual Summer Party 🌞 went down a treat yesterday with a fabulous live variety performance from Neil and delicious buffet provided by kitchen team. Neil sang all our favourite hits from Billy Ocean to ‘Summer Holiday’. We dressed up, danced and sang to our hearts content. These parties are such a wonderful way to bring residents, families and friends together to connect in celebration and joy.
Thank you to everyone that came and partied with us we hoped you all had fun. Here’s just a snapshot of our fabulous afternoon :)

We enjoyed a live Viola Concert from Phillip Heyman yesterday. He took us on a wonderful journey from the proms, Mamma Mia to end on The Greatest Showman.
Dancing, Singing and community; live music brings us all together to make wonderful memories, relief stress and provide a bright atmosphere.
We look forward to the next visit :)

Joan was reminiscing her hobbies in the garden and as we were chatting knitting came up; finding wool and needles she started to rediscover her joy for the craft.
Talking about the times her and her mother used to knit together by the fire and all the clothes she used to knit for her children. Knitting can be a very calming and stress relieving activity; helping residents not only with hand dexterity but also to enter their flow state ❤️

You are all invited to our Summer Party on Thursday 20th August from 3:00pm.
We will have a live singer from 3:30pm and a delicious buffet to share afterwards.
