We wanted to share an update on the parking enforcement measures in place for construction workers on the new Velindre Cancer Centre project.
We fully recognise the impact nVCC construction can have on residents. While the vast majority follow the site requirements, we recognise that the actions of a small number can have a disproportionate impact on the local community.
Any concerns we receive are escalated immediately to Sacyr, our construction partner, which is responsible for managing compliance on parking issues.
We continue to monitor the situation closely and work collaboratively with both the local community and the contractor to address any concerns that arise. We remain committed to ensuring that these concerns are taken seriously and that appropriate mitigation measures are in place throughout the construction period.
Sacyr have a range of mitigation measures remain in place, including:
· Dedicated workforce parking facilities for project personnel
· Regular communications and reminders to the workforce regarding parking expectations
· Monitoring of reported vehicles and investigation of concerns raised by residents
· Monitoring by members of the project team during arrival times where possible
· Additional measures under development to improve vehicle registration tracking and workforce compliance monitoring
At the most recent resident drop-in session, Sacyr's Stakeholder Engagement Manager delivered a presentation outlining the challenges associated with workforce parking and an update on the measures currently in place. The resident drop-in takes place on the last Wednesday of every month at 19 Park Road from 6pm to 7pm. The sessions are an opportunity to hear the latest updates on the project and ask the project team any questions you may have.
