Received this from NYC... (shared with permission...)
Hello David - I’m writing from New York. I’m also sharing this appreciation on behalf of our family across Cape Town, Kentucky, and Zimbabwe. I wanted to thank you for the meaningful role you played in my Aunt’s funeral yesterday.
I was just speaking with her sister earlier, and we talked at length about you and the service. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You captured my Aunt so perfectly and truthfully that it felt as though you had known her – well.
For those of us watching online, you helped us feel deeply connected — to everyone in the room, to Bunny, to Tess, and to the family.
To me, Bun was more than a dearly loved aunt; she held an even greater place in my life, I am blessed to have had known her and better for it. What you do carries great responsibility. To take a family’s words, offered in a time of such grief, and share them with such grace, care and meaning is truly a gift. You conveyed Bunny’s personality and character beautifully, especially the depth of her love and joy for our lovely Ron — Bun’s lovely Ron.
Thank you, too, for the way you spoke about the journey through grief. It was eloquent and resonated with all of us. And thank you, especially, from those of us who could not be there in person, I've been heartbroken about not being able to stay for the funeral, I was there for her last moments on this earth which I know counts, but you made us feel as though we were in the room. Thank you, David. With gratitude - L.
