Remember NOT to use tweezers - you’re quite likely to pierce the venom sac and push the venom in!

It’s worth popping an antihistamine in your first aid kit too, in case of an allergic reaction! 💊

Are you and your children ready for some first aid learning?

🚑 FREE CHILDREN’S FIRST AID WORKSHOPS 🚑

This week we’re bringing you the first in our series of three children’s first aid workshops!

First up we’ll be learning what to do in an emergency and who can help us:

WHEN: Thursday 14 Jan
TIME: 11AM

Children will need a doll or teddy, or a sibling/grown-up to practise on & we’re attaching a worksheet to be completed afterwards (see comments!).

🚑 FREE CHILDREN’S FIRST AID WORKSHOPS ⛑

Following the announcement of schools closing again, we will be resuming our Children’s First Aid Workshops & Activity Sheets. We'll share them on Facebook weekly starting Monday to help you to plan your day when homeschooling your child. 😊

We will be learning about...
🚑 What to do in an emergency and who can help us.
🧸 What to do if you find someone unconscious, checking if the person is conscious & breathing and how to put someone in the recovery position.
🩸 How to deal with mild & severe bleeding
🔥 Burns and how to treat them
🩹 We’ll also be sharing activity sheets prior to the Workshops that you can print off for your child to complete after the session.

Children will need a doll or teddy, or a sibling/grown-up to practise on. Cling film, sticky first aid tape, jam, ketchup or lipstick, a clean towel and a first aid kit, if you have one!

💚 Day 3: Health on the shelf! 💚

Poor Stick Man! He and Doc were bungee-jumping from the Christmas tree and Stick Man broke his arm! Not to worry, though - Doc knows what to do! He sat Stick Man down, made him comfortable, used some safety pins to make Stick Man a sling and called 999.
Remember with breaks...
Do not touch any protruding bone ends
Don’t attempt to push exposed bones back under the skin
Control any bleeding with pressure, (without putting pressure on exposed bones)
Monitor for signs of shock – if you spot these, redial 999!

Sadie Salt started choking on a sausage at her nursery in Radlett, London. The youngster was taken to St Mary's Hospital where she spent two days in intensive care. She died on November 14.
