Championing Social Care Care Home Open Weeks โ€“ Continuing the World Football Theme.
(Part 2-) At Regency House.
The celebrations continued into the afternoon with music, singing, and plenty of flag-waving. Bruce and his partner delighted everyone with a surprise operatic duet, filling the room with beautiful music and bringing smiles to all.

Residents and some family members who came to join in, also enjoyed a selection of delicious snacks and treats from around the world, accompanied by refreshing cold drinks during the performance.

It was truly an incredible day filled with laughter, friendship, music, and community spirit. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special for our residents. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒ๐ŸŽถโšฝ๐Ÿ†

Championing Social Care Care Home Open Week- Continuing with the World Cup Theme.

The morning started with a wonderful visit from the children of Herbert Thompson Primary School for a fantastic intergenerational activity. Residents and pupils came together to paint flags from around the world, celebrating different nations and the spirit of the World Cup.

The children also had great fun taking part in a goal-scoring challenge, with their teacher bravely stepping into goal! There was plenty of excitement and friendly competition, and the highest scorer was proudly presented with a Gold Cup. ๐Ÿ†โšฝ

Adding to the community spirit of the day, our local Community Police Officers also called in to visit, spending time chatting and engaging with both the children and our residents. Their visit was warmly welcomed and provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to connect and enjoy meaningful conversations together.

โšฝ๐ŸŒ Care Home Open Week 2026 โ€“ World Cup Week at Regency House! ๐ŸŒโšฝ

We're having a fantastic time celebrating Care Home Open Week (CHOW) 2026, with this year's exciting World Cup theme bringing the spirit of global togetherness, fun, and friendly competition right into our home.

So far this week, our residents have enjoyed an armchair trip to Mexico, exploring the country's vibrant culture, traditions, and fascinating facts from the comfort of Regency House. We also got creative in the kitchen, baking and decorating delicious World Cup cupcakes featuring flags from nations around the world. ๐Ÿง๐ŸŒŽ

Care Home Open Week is all about opening our doors, celebrating our wonderful communities, and showcasing the joy, connection, and meaningful experiences that take place every day in care homes. We can't wait to see what the rest of our World Cup Week has in store!

What a treat! ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿง€

Our residents had a wonderful morning baking with our new Head Chef, John, making delicious cheesy twists together.

John shared out the ingredients and guided everyone through the recipe step by step. Along the way, there was plenty of laughter, friendly banter, and entertaining stories from his previous roles. Our residents enjoyed sharing their own memories and experiences too, making it a truly social and enjoyable activity.

Then came the best part โ€“ the taste test! ๐Ÿ˜‹ The smiles on everyone's faces say it all. It was lovely to see so much enjoyment, conversation, and teamwork throughout the morning.

A huge well done to everyone involved. The cheesy twists looked fantastic and, more importantly, tasted absolutely delicious! ๐Ÿง€โœจ๐Ÿ‘

Gardening Club Fun Indoors! ๐ŸŒผ

Although the weather wasnโ€™t at its best this morning, that didnโ€™t stop our residents from enjoying a wonderful Gardening Club session indoors.

Bright, colourful plants and flowers were carefully arranged into beautiful hanging baskets and barrel-shaped pots, with each resident creating their own unique design. The room was filled with chatter, laughter, and plenty of creativity throughout the morning.

Along the way, a few unexpected little friends ๐ŸŒ (snails!) were discovered, becoming a great talking point and adding even more fun to the activity.

It was a delightful morning enjoyed by all who attended, with everyone leaving proud of their creations and looking forward to seeing them in the garden.

What a lovely morning we had at Dyffryn Gardens! We enjoyed a stroll around the beautiful gardens and explored the stunning house, taking in all the sights along the way.

Afterwards, we treated ourselves to a well-deserved cuppa, cold drink, and a slice of cake. There was plenty of laughter, conversation, and good company throughout the morning.

Everyone had a wonderful few hours together, enjoying the sunshine and making happy memories. โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ˜Š
