The parents we support had an “absolutely amazing” time at our Sound Bath Session yesterday, where they got to enjoy an hour of relaxation, calming music and incense, followed by a cuppa and a chat at the Tawelfryn Community Centre 🧘‍♀️ ☕️

This was just one of the many in-person and virtual activities we provide for parents of children and young people. Our variety of activity sessions give parents and carers the chance to step away from the stresses of life, enjoy some time to themselves, and build connections with a community of likeminded people.

➡️ Our charity supports each family as a unit and we have projects for everyone, from young people and their siblings to the adults. No formal diagnosis is needed to register for our services, so visit www.APCymru.org.uk/ joinourfamily to learn more and sign up today.

— A note from our charity: Please remember you can always donate unwanted clothing to AP Cymru, which helps us to support more children, young people and their families. All of the details can be found here: APCymru.org.uk/donate-clothing

AP Cymru was delighted to attend the Cardiff and Vale Regional Partnership Board Annual Conference and to have the opportunity to host an information stand alongside so many organisations committed to improving the lives and wellbeing of people across our communities.

The conference brought together professionals, partners, community groups and people with lived experience to share ideas and explore how we can work together to create change.

Our team enjoyed meeting delegates throughout the day and we were proud to raise awareness of the support, training and services available at AP Cymru.

We would like to thank the Cardiff and Vale Regional Partnership Board for organising such an informative event. We were proud to be part of the day.

Thank you to Create Caerphilly for hosting a brilliant Mini Hip-Hop Roulette session for the neurodivergent young people we support!

The split creative session gave everyone a chance to learn how to graffiti AND beatbox! 🎨🎤 The first half explored spray-painting techniques, colour theory, and creative design skills. 🌈 The second half was all about hip-hop, discovering how to use your voice as an instrument to create beats, rhythms, and melodies. 🎶

➡️To access our , exclusive activities for children, young people and their families, sign up to our charity’s support services at: APCymru.org.uk/joinourfamily. You’ll be the first to hear about all of the fantastic Family Fun Activities we have lined up for the summer holidays! ☀️

🎉 We’re celebrating Autistic Pride Day! 🎉

Today and every day, our charity’s goal is to…

ELIMINATE stigma:
♾️ We want autism to be met with awareness and acceptance rather than stigma or shame
♾️ We want people to feel comfortable and confident sharing an autism diagnosis with others
♾️ We want autism to be recognised as a difference, not a deficit

EDUCATE people:
♾️ We want to hear less and less misconceptions about autism
♾️ We want to see more and more accurate representations of autism
♾️ We want autism to be understood as a spectrum of diverse individuals who all have different experiences, struggles, strengths, and support needs

CELEBRATE autistic people:
♾️ We want autistic people to feel understood and valued for who they are
♾️ We want autistic people’s strengths, perspectives, creativity and individuality to be recognised, cultivated, appreciated and celebrated 💜
