A lot of the anxiety around surgery day comes from not knowing what to expect. Here's how it actually goes.
You're welcomed into the clinic and taken to your patient room to get changed and settled. After your observations are taken, you'll meet your surgeon to design your hairline together, parts of your hair may be taken down to a grade depending on whether we do the shave or non shave style surgery.
Then it's time for local anaesthetic injections to numb the area, which is the only part of the day that involves any discomfort, and it's only briefly.
From there, you're in your surgeon's hands for the rest of the procedure, with comfort breaks along the way as each stage is completed.
Once surgery is complete, you'll head back home (or back to your hotel) with your aftercare pack and clear instructions on graft care and getting comfortable for the night ahead.
The next day, you're back with us for your first hair wash, where we clean the area, remove any bandaging and start to remove the visible signs of surgery. If you've chosen hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to speed up healing, this is when your session takes place, before you head home.
If you're considering a hair transplant, book a free in-person or video consultation (link in bio).
