Ever since I started Maple Leaf Massage, accessibility and inclusivity were at the forefront of my practice. I know what it’s like to be anxious, to have specific needs, and to wonder if the space I’m entering is a space for me.
I’m so passionate (aka obsessed 😅) about the benefits of massage and I just genuinely want the most people as possible to experience it!! So creating an accessible space has always been a no brainer.
When I saw that were offering funded BSL courses, I jumped at the chance. Held at my local community centre , it was an opportunity for me to add another tool to my toolkit. For Maple Leaf of course but for the wider community as well!!
I know that Level 1 is only the beginning… being able to communicate about feelings of tension, stress, relaxation are still to come, but it’s a start.
Accessibility hurts no one and benefits EVERYONE 💜🍁
