What an inspiring story! 🌟

John McGarry, the Pembroke musician, thought his days of reading sheet music were over due to a triple diagnosis of cataracts, glaucoma, and AMD (age-related macular degeneration).

After undergoing pioneering eye surgery in South Wales, he has been given a "new lease on life," saying "The difference after surgery is unbelievable – I can see..." The treatment, carried out by Professor Muhtaseb, has not only restored his vision for everyday tasks but also allowed him to continue his passion for music.

It’s another fantastic example of how modern, bespoke eye care can restore both vision and independence.

It’s always a pleasure to receive a token of appreciation from a patient following a successful surgery.
Recently, I was able to share and enjoy a totally unexpected box of delights from a patient that isn’t a patient. I have neither met nor treated this most generous of individuals.
She called my office to book a surgical consultation. When I reviewed the clinical information provided it was apparent that surgery was an option and the consultation would not have been helpful for her. So I asked my team to relay my advice and she cancelled the appointment.

And two weeks later I arrived for a clinic to find this box of favourite treats on my desk, accompanied by a Thank You card. It made my day.

Acting in the patient’s best interests is always appreciated.
And so is a box of chocolates.

We are seeking a proactive and friendly individual to provide essential administrative and executive support directly to a Consultant Ophthalmologist, while also contributing to the smooth running of our practice and ensuring a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Executive Support: Provide dedicated administrative and executive assistance to the Consultant Ophthalmologist.
Patient Liaison: Be the first point of contact for patients, both in person and over the phone, directing them to the appropriate services and ensuring a courteous and efficient experience.
Administrative Duties: Undertake a wide range of administrative tasks to support the practice's daily operations, including clerical support for clinical staff.
Communication Hub: Facilitate effective written and verbal communication between patients, the healthcare team, secondary care providers, and other associates.
Lead Conversion: Utilise exceptional phone skills to engage with warm leads and convert enquiries into appointments through a friendly and helpful approach.
Team Support: Offer general assistance and support to the entire practice team as needed.

About You:
You possess exceptional phone skills and a proven ability to engage positively with individuals.
You are highly organised, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
You are a friendly and approachable individual who can project a positive image of the practice.
While not essential, previous experience in a PA, EA, or secretarial role, ideally within a medical or optical setting, would be advantageous.
