Throughout National Walking Month, we’ve organised walks to Caerleon, Roath Park and Pontypridd Park.

These walks highlight the many benefits of walking, such as, improving physical health, supporting mental wellbeing, and giving everyone the opportunity to explore different places within our communities.

Alongside the walks, we also took out our “Wandering Stones” decorated with positive messages, which were then left in public places for others to find and enjoy.

A huge thank you to everyone who facilitated and supported these walks.

for April goes to Megan! 😊

"Megan is always positive and brings a great attitude to work. She is consistently friendly and supportive to the individuals, and I have received great feedback about her from them. She has dealt with some difficult situations and has managed them with grace and professionalism."

"As a newer member of the team, Megan has recently taken on responsibilities including shift leading and medication administration. She always offers to help with these duties and has also taken responsibility for supporting and guiding newer members of the team."

"Multiple individuals have said that they enjoy Megan's supports and have said that she has really helped them. Every member of staff has had positive things to say about her and have said she is a pleasure to be on shift with. We are lucky to have Megan as part of our team!"

Congratulations Megan! 😊

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and this year’s theme is ‘Take Action’.

We have shared resources about the support services available, along with “action slips” to encourage everyone to reflect on the positive actions they already take to support their mental wellbeing, and any new actions they would like to commit to going forward.

Taking time to recognise the small things that help us feel supported can make a real difference. Some responses have been; staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, planning things to look forward to, going for a walk, talking to someone, or making time for yourself. Every positive action matters.

Today we were joined by Newport Community Connectors at one of our Supported Living services in Newport. Our Individuals had the chance to hear about the services available, and how they can be supported in making connections within their local community.

We’re really happy with the information we received today and thankful for all our answered questions.

We’re delighted to celebrate the official opening of the shared resource at our Newport Supported Living service - The Cabin!

Today, our Registered Manager, Rhian Nelms and one of our Deputy Managers, Amy Griffiths hosted a fantastic opening party to mark the occasion, bringing everyone together to celebrate this exciting new space.

The Cabin will be used for events, activities, key working sessions and creating opportunities for people to connect, learn and enjoy meaningful experiences together. It’s a wonderful addition to the service and reflects our commitment to providing warm, welcoming and supportive environments for the people we support.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make today such a success, we’re looking forward to making many great memories in The Cabin!

We’re happy to share our new wetlands-inspired mural, co-created by Individuals and our Creative Engagement Coordinator, Emmanuella, within one of our Newport services.

This project has helped transform the space into a calmer, more welcoming environment, showing how creativity can make a positive difference to the places we live and spend time in.

Everyone involved loved getting creative and trying something new, and we’re so proud of what’s been achieved together.

Congratulations to St John’s House in Cardiff on receiving an excellent Provider Assessment Report from the QAIS Team and successfully maintaining their 3 Qs status as part of the National Collaborative Framework for Adults (18+) in Mental Health and Learning Disabilities in Wales.

“All care and support plans were contemporary and personalised."

"Staff at the home were observed to be engaging with residents and planning daily activities. Residents and staff were noted to have good rapport and residents appeared comfortable with manager and staff."

"The environment was clean and well maintained. Resident’s areas were personalised to their taste and made homely."
