React React is a leading provider of care and support for vulnerable adults across South Wales.

React is a leading specialist care provider for adults who are over the age of 18 with a mental health condition, learning disability, acquired brain injury or any other associated complex needs. The organisation was established in 2009 and has since expanded to multiple services and many success stories from Individuals seeking further independence. During this time, we have developed a unique 4

Stage Recovery Pathway which enables Individuals to move on to more independent living whilst providing consistency of care and support.

React’s Employee of the Month for May!

A huge congratulations to John, our Employee of the Month for May.

John was nominated by his colleagues at The Colliers in RCT for his dedication and positive impact on the Individuals he supports. He has encouraged people to get out into their local community, explore local landmarks, and stay active through regular walks, helping to promote wellbeing and independence.

John was also recognised for supporting an Individual to achieve a goal they had held for many years, visiting Porthcawl for a holiday. From helping plan the trip to accompanying them on the holiday, John was there every step of the way. Given the Individual’s physical health challenges, this was a significant achievement, made possible through John’s encouragement, patience, and support.

Thank you, John, for the compassion, positivity, and commitment you bring to your role every day. A well-deserved recognition.

To celebrate we’ve put together Smile Bags for our services. Each bag includes useful information, a sugar wheel, and dental care essentials to help raise awareness of the importance of looking after our teeth and gums.

A healthy smile can have a positive impact on confidence, wellbeing, and overall health. We are happy to promote simple steps that can help support good oral hygiene.

Today, our Service Management Team took part in the Leadership and Management Development Programme module, Leading with Confidence: Reflection, Accountability and Performance.

The session was delivered by our Managing Director, Haydn, alongside our Service Development Director, Emily. Through open discussion, reflection, and practical learning, the team explored key areas including reflective practice, investigations, disciplinary processes, effective supervision, and the expectations set out within the new Social Care Wales Code of Professional Practice.

Strong leadership is at the heart of high-quality care. By investing in the development of our Managers, we are strengthening our ability to support our teams, promote accountability, and continue delivering positive outcomes for the Individuals we support.

A meaningful day of learning, collaboration, and professional growth, with a shared commitment to leading with confidence and purpose.

Throughout National Walking Month, we’ve organised walks to Caerleon, Roath Park and Pontypridd Park.

These walks highlight the many benefits of walking, such as, improving physical health, supporting mental wellbeing, and giving everyone the opportunity to explore different places within our communities.

Alongside the walks, we also took out our “Wandering Stones” decorated with positive messages, which were then left in public places for others to find and enjoy.

A huge thank you to everyone who facilitated and supported these walks.

for April goes to Megan! 😊

"Megan is always positive and brings a great attitude to work. She is consistently friendly and supportive to the individuals, and I have received great feedback about her from them. She has dealt with some difficult situations and has managed them with grace and professionalism."

"As a newer member of the team, Megan has recently taken on responsibilities including shift leading and medication administration. She always offers to help with these duties and has also taken responsibility for supporting and guiding newer members of the team."

"Multiple individuals have said that they enjoy Megan's supports and have said that she has really helped them. Every member of staff has had positive things to say about her and have said she is a pleasure to be on shift with. We are lucky to have Megan as part of our team!"

Congratulations Megan! 😊

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and this year’s theme is ‘Take Action’.

We have shared resources about the support services available, along with “action slips” to encourage everyone to reflect on the positive actions they already take to support their mental wellbeing, and any new actions they would like to commit to going forward.

Taking time to recognise the small things that help us feel supported can make a real difference. Some responses have been; staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, planning things to look forward to, going for a walk, talking to someone, or making time for yourself. Every positive action matters.

Today we were joined by Newport Community Connectors at one of our Supported Living services in Newport. Our Individuals had the chance to hear about the services available, and how they can be supported in making connections within their local community.

We’re really happy with the information we received today and thankful for all our answered questions.

We’re delighted to celebrate the official opening of the shared resource at our Newport Supported Living service - The Cabin!

Today, our Registered Manager, Rhian Nelms and one of our Deputy Managers, Amy Griffiths hosted a fantastic opening party to mark the occasion, bringing everyone together to celebrate this exciting new space.

The Cabin will be used for events, activities, key working sessions and creating opportunities for people to connect, learn and enjoy meaningful experiences together. It’s a wonderful addition to the service and reflects our commitment to providing warm, welcoming and supportive environments for the people we support.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make today such a success, we’re looking forward to making many great memories in The Cabin!

We’re happy to share our new wetlands-inspired mural, co-created by Individuals and our Creative Engagement Coordinator, Emmanuella, within one of our Newport services.

This project has helped transform the space into a calmer, more welcoming environment, showing how creativity can make a positive difference to the places we live and spend time in.

Everyone involved loved getting creative and trying something new, and we’re so proud of what’s been achieved together.
