🦷 Tissue-Level Implant Rehabilitation | Evertis Stella

A carefully planned implant solution designed to restore function while avoiding unnecessary additional surgery.

In this case, two Evertis Stella tissue-level implants were placed to restore the upper left posterior dentition.

The treatment was planned with a cantilevered UL6, allowing us to avoid the need for a sinus lift and the additional surgical procedure, healing time and morbidity that can accompany it.

The final restoration provides a fixed, functional result while keeping the surgical approach as straightforward and minimally invasive as possible.

ALL-ON-6 | FIXED TEETH TRANSFORMATION 🦷✨

A new smile — and a major change in function and confidence.

This patient underwent full upper-arch rehabilitation using the All-on-6 concept, replacing failing teeth with a fixed implant-supported bridge supported by six dental implants.

The aim wasn’t simply to give the patient whiter teeth. We wanted to restore:

✔️ Fixed teeth rather than a removable denture
✔️ Improved chewing and function
✔️ A natural-looking smile appropriate for the patient
✔️ Better tooth proportions and symmetry
✔️ Long-term support from strategically positioned implants

One of the most rewarding parts of full-arch implant treatment is seeing the difference between the clinical situation we start with and the smile the patient leaves with.

Six implants. One fixed smile. A completely different experience from removable teeth.

Full-arch implant treatment requires careful assessment and planning, and suitability varies between patients depending on bone, general health, bite and other factors.

Upper Lid Blepharoplasty - When the anatomy tells a different story 👁️

This was a challenging case that ultimately required two surgical procedures to achieve the excellent result you see here.

The initial procedure was a standard bilateral upper lid blepharoplasty. During follow-up, however, there was persistent asymmetry and fullness of the upper eyelids, simply removing more skin was not the answer.

Rather than proceeding blindly with further surgery, we investigated the underlying anatomy with a CT scan.

The scan demonstrated two different causes on the two sides: on the right, there was prolapse/herniation of the lacrimal gland( tear producing gland), while on the left, the persistent fullness was predominantly due to excess orbital fat.

The secondary blepharoplasty was therefore individually tailored to each side. The pr*****ed right lacrimal gland was carefully repositioned and secured higher within its anatomical position beneath the superior orbital rim, while excess fat was conservatively reduced from the left upper lid to improve its contour and symmetry.

The final photographs demonstrate the result following healing: a more balanced upper eyelid contour, improved symmetry and a refreshed appearance while maintaining a natural look.

Both the patient and I were very pleased with the final outcome.

Cases like this are an important reminder that successful blepharoplasty depends on understanding the underlying orbital anatomy- not simply removing skin. Careful assessment, appropriate imaging when indicated, and being prepared to revise a result when necessary are all part of achieving the best possible outcome.

A day well spent in Gothenburg, Sweden 🇸🇪, continuing to develop and refine my knowledge in implant dentistry.

Today’s lecture by Jan Derks from the University of Gothenburg focused on peri-implantitis — its diagnosis, prevention and treatment.

Placing dental implants is only part of successful implant treatment. Understanding how to maintain long-term peri-implant health, recognise disease early and manage complications effectively is equally important.

✨ Aesthetic Zone Implant Restoration Starts with Soft Tissue Management ✨

Replacing a missing maxillary central incisor requires much more than osseointegration. The true challenge lies in preserving and shaping the delicate peri-implant soft tissues to achieve a natural and harmonious smile.

In this case, a tissue-level implant was restored in the aesthetic zone. Before fabricating the definitive crown, a customized provisional restoration was used to progressively condition the peri-implant tissues and guide the development of the emergence profile.

The provisional crown acts as a soft tissue sculpting tool by:

🔹 Supporting the facial gingival margin
🔹 Guiding papilla maturation
🔹 Developing a natural emergence profile
🔹 Preserving peri-implant tissue stability
🔹 Creating the foundation for an aesthetic final restoration

🦷 Immediate Implant Placement: Saving Time, Preserving Bone, Restoring Smiles

When a tooth has reached the end of its lifespan due to extensive restorations, recurrent decay, fractures, or failed root canal treatment, extraction is often unavoidable. Traditionally, patients would undergo extraction, wait several months for healing, and then return for implant placement.

But in selected cases, there is a better option: Immediate Implant Placement.

In this case, both lower first molars had undergone previous root canal treatment and extensive restorations. Unfortunately, they were no longer maintainable and required extraction. Instead of removing the teeth and waiting months for healing, both teeth were carefully extracted and replaced with dental implants during the same surgical appointment.
