Online Counselling with Sarah is over a year old! 🎉

I have learnt so much in the last year and felt a makeover was needed so that my image represents more of what I am about as a counsellor and as a person.

My original logo was made with AI. Moving forwards I offer a human service and so I will not be using AI to create content again.

As time has passed I am feeling more comfortable with myself and yes I am a bit alternative and I don't look like other therapists, but nor do I want to! I am aware I stand out a bit on directory listings and that used to make me question myself, but now I am embracing it. I am stepping up to provide the representation I want to see more of in the counselling profession.

My wonderful new logo was designed and created by the talented Carina from Anticarnist. For me, she was the obvious choice to collaborate with due to shared interests and values, and I wanted to support another female-owned business too.

My website has entered dark mode to reflect a more alt image which I hope some people will find refreshing and welcoming (I also hope it is also easier on your eyes!)

Today I am stretching my own introvert-inclined boundaries by going to British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s Making Connections event in Cardiff. I encourage clients to do things to stretch their comfort zones so better walk the walk myself!! So far the talk on eating disorders has been informative and I’ve spoken with some other counsellors 🙂

As we head deeper into dark and cold days it is important to up the self care in order to beat any winter blues. Mind, body, and soul.

These are all connected to make up wonderful, magical, multi-faceted you!

A holistic approach to counselling not only considers what you are thinking, but also what you are feeling emotionally, feeling physically, what you believe in, what ignites your passions, and what you long for and dream about.

Are you giving your mind, body, and soul enough attention? Is there a dominant part? Is a part feeling neglected? Does anything need addressing?

No right or wrong answers, just curiosity and the potential for things to feel and be better.

I have found the result can change over time - my personality type used to be ENFJ-T (extraverted, intuitive, feeling, judging, turbulent), but in recent years has become INFJ-T (introverted, the rest are the same). This means I am more introverted than I used to be.

There is a lot of negativity in the world which we can absorb, and this can then become our own inner critic. Things we have been told by the media, our families, past teachers, and peers can stick and over time we can end up with a head full of negative thoughts.

While I am definitely not posi vibes only, if you feel the balance of positive and negative thoughts is off in your mind then some re-programming is required. This can be done through repeating positive affirmations to ourselves. I have listed my favourites here - do you have any you would like to share?

You can get your favourite printed off as a sticker to add to your mirror so you see it every time you look at yourself, or put it on the fridge, or use it as a bookmark.

There are also some beautiful affirmation playlists to be found on Spotify if you need to hear more good things spoken out loud.

Flyers are here!

My offer is not due to my services being cheap/rubbish, but my belief that therapy should be for all and not just the affluent. Mental health affects us all in different ways at different times and I refuse to discriminate by charging extortionate amounts to those who are vulnerable during a cost of living crisis.
