☀️ Stay Safe in the Heatwave! ☀️
With temperatures in Cardiff reaching 35°C and a Red Weather Warning in place, it's important to take extra care of yourself and your feet.
💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially between 11am and 4pm.
👟 Wear lightweight, breathable footwear and avoid walking barefoot on hot pavements, which can cause burns and skin damage.
🦶 If your feet feel hot, swollen or uncomfortable, try cooling them in a bucket or basin of cool (not ice-cold) water for 10–15 minutes. This can help reduce discomfort and swelling during/or after a long day on your feet.
🧦 Change socks regularly, keep feet clean and dry, and check for any signs of blisters, irritation or skin damage—particularly if you have diabetes or circulation problems.
Take care, stay cool, and don't forget that your feet need looking after in hot weather too! 👣💙
