Bereavement support provides a confidential, safe and non-judgemental space to express your feelings openly. It provides guidance and understanding during one of life’s most challenging experiences. It allows you to accept that your reactions are a normal part of grief. It also offers positive coping mechanisms, and strategies for adjusting to life after your loss.

Seeking bereavement support is not a sign of weakness; rather, a beautiful and courageous act of self-care which acknowledges that loss has an extreme emotional impact and needs time to process.

Each person’s journey through grief is individual. Everyone deserves compassion during this time, and no one needs to face grief alone.

Bereavement Support takes place online from the comfort of the location of your choice. If you would prefer a face-to-face session in Carlisle or Hexham, please call or message 07468611869.

For many, talking to friends and family after a loss is hugely beneficial, however, sometimes, those closest to us may not know how to help, or what to say.

The death of a loved one, or someone close to us, can leave us with a whole range of feelings and emotions. We might feel numb, overwhelmed, isolated, unsure how to move forward and a wide range of emotions in between. Talking your innermost feelings through in a confidential space to someone unrelated to you can help to make sense of your grief.

FEAR OF FLYING (continued)
For some, the noises of the aircraft, the announcements, the dread of turbulence during the flight, the worry that something might happen mid-flight can play so many spiralling tricks on the mind that the whole experience becomes a living nightmare. Also extremely unhelpful, is the language used at airports and on aircraft. Is it any wonder people get nervous with announcements using “doom words” going on around them, both on the ground and during the flight?

Here are a few examples:

🔹Terminal
🔹Departure
🔹Last and final call
🔹In the event of an emergency, oxygen masks…
🔹Emergency landing
🔹Brace position
🔹Take nothing with you

Anxiety levels start to rise and escalate simply because of the dread of anticipated events. Events which could happen, but realistically, not that often.

Aerophobia, or fear of flying, is an intense fear or dread of being in an airborne carrier, such as an aeroplane, helicopter or glider, whilst it is in flight. People who have this fear may also have a debilitating dread of simply going to an airport. Factor in parking, check-in, security, passport control, boarding and you still haven’t taken your seat! If this is something you are already dreading this year, Hypnotherapy can help!

According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the airline industry has improved its overall safety performance over the last ten years by 61%, with an accident rate in 2023 of 0.80 accidents per million sectors, compared to 2.06 in 2014 (IATA, 2023). If you're still putting off flying, despite this statistic, perhaps Hypnotherapy is for you?

Benefits of Hypnotherapy for social media addiction

What if social media had absolutely no relevance in your life?

🔹Imagine you are free of the desire to pick up your phone to check your notifications.

🔹Imagine that posting your status and waiting for the likes to trickle in has no meaning to you.

🔹Imagine having absolutely no interest in anyone else’s social media status.

🔹What if you only used your mobile phone for its original intention – to make and receive calls.

Would that be of interest to you?

Social media has taken over my life... How do I change?

There are a few things you can implement now:

🔹Acknowledge and Accept - the first thing is acknowledging you might have a problem and accepting you need to do something about it.

🔹Reflect – what’s your daily or hourly usage? How does social media leave you feeling – up or down?

🔹Limit yourself and take breaks – set times and give yourself boundaries. Stick to them. Taking breaks from social media can give you a clearer perspective on the situation.

🔹Do something different – go out for a walk, reconnect with family and friends, resume or start a non-digital hobby.

🔹Switch off notifications – this reduces the compulsive urge to look or check immediately.

🔹Awareness – having an awareness of your situation and taking proactive steps can help you regain control of your social media habits.

🔹Take action – if none of the above prove effective, consider Hypnotherapy for social media addiction.

“Just like using drugs and alcohol to numb the pain can — and does — lead to addiction, using social media to fill the void of relationships, or other needs, often leads to addiction, as well.” - Mandy J. Hoffman
