One life….

24/08/2026

I’ll be taking a much needed break soon. Not sure how or when but it will involve a complete ‘switch off and reset’ because I need to reset and recharge in order to give back.

For most of life, we are raised not to admit fatigue, especially in the forces. Phrases like ‘man up’, ‘crack on’ and ‘carry on regardless’ ….. they are all a bit bloody stupid.

What is wrong with taking a well earned break from the work you love when it is work that is so difficult at times that people always say ‘I don’t know how you do it?’

I need to serve me to serve you ❤️ Certa Cito

Keep Calm & Carry On

Your ceremonies are more than words on paper to me.
Find a Celebrant that fits your requirements. Who can think for you or with you when thinking is too difficult. With Love, Kerrie x

We don't often post about funeral services for obvious reasons, however, with family permission, allow me to share these images with you.

Every service I deliver becomes a part of me in some way (as strange as that may sound)

As a veteran of our British Army myself, It is always an honour to serve those who serve themselves and these gentlemen from Royal British Legion Carlisle certainly did this wonderful chap proud.

Thank you always to those who put their trust in me at such a difficult time and thank you to the staff at Carlisle Crematorium who work with some of my unusual requests.

Attended a fabulous talk and workshop by at the ALSO festival which was a little dive into the dreaded yet still fascinating world of AI …….

I have a lot of thoughts buzzing around on this, one of them is this:

I am absolutely fed up off receiving un-interesting, perfunctory emails or messages from directories that I pay a fortune to be in which are clearly AI driven therefore, I am now cancelling those things that don’t serve me in a ‘human’ way anymore.

Why ? Because my role is to sit with human beings, to listen, feel, empathise, embrace, enjoy and then take all that in my little brain and make something to deliver with my own human touch.

AI most definitely has a purpose for some people, for some tasks….. but I believe we are losing the connection, the heartfelt centre and genuine care that makes us human and I for one could not deliver a complete ceremony for a wedding or a funeral that has been created without my heart, brain and hands involved ❤️❤️

I hardly ever open an email from these said directories anymore because they hold no interest however, today, after that talk at the festival… I thought ‘go on , open it and read it with fresh perspective’.

I did, it was ‘soulless’ - hence the end of that chapter for me is ahead.

I’m going deeper into what I believe in, what I’ve always believed in and that is getting out and talking with other humans. To hold space and share space together - intelligently, not artificially.

With love
Kerrie x

🚴‍♀️ I'm taking on a 300-mile cycling challenge this July to raise money for Cancer Research UK! 💙

Throughout July, I'll be cycling a total of 300 miles to help fund life-saving research and support the fight against cancer.

Cancer has touched the lives of so many of us, whether personally or through someone we love. Every donation, no matter the size, helps Cancer Research UK continue their incredible work towards better treatments and, one day, a cure.

If you're able to support me, I'd be so grateful. Even a small donation can make a real difference. If donating isn't possible, sharing this post would mean just as much and would help me reach more people.

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement—it really will help keep me pedalling through all 300 miles! 🚴‍♀️💪

The big C is vile and cruel and none of us seem too far from its effects on those we love. I don’t know how I’ll do it but I’m going to be taking on the Cycle 300 Miles Challenge this July to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. Please show your support and help fund life-saving cancer res...

Deeply focused funerals are the only way for me.

Every family I serve is treated with respect, care and dignity to ensure we include everyone and everything important to them. For some families, the grief is too overwhelming to even think which is where the skills of a good Celebrant come in.

I have 8 tender years experience as a Celebrant, every day I feel, learn or implement something new because truly, every person, every family and every service is unique and will always be treated as such.

Go gently old soldier !

Mr Brian Wildey just left a new 5-star review of birdsandbeescelebrant.com on Trustpilot

Kerrie was the celebrant for my Nana's burial, and we couldn't have been happier with the service she provided.

She spent time with my mum and auntie getting to know my Nana, listening to stories and learning about the kind of person she was. It was clear that she genuinely cared about getting everything right, and the words she put together felt personal, thoughtful and a true reflection of her life.

She also chose a beautiful poem that suited both my Nana and our family perfectly.

One of the things that really stood out was the attention to detail. After finding out that my Nana's favourite colour was a deep wine red, Kerrie arrived wearing a beautiful outfit in that colour.

It was such a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot to us and showed just how much thought and care she had put into making the day feel personal.
Kerrie spoke with warmth, confidence and compassion, making what was a difficult day feel as comforting as it could be.

It's easy to see why she has such a great reputation. Although we came to know Kerrie through such a sad occasion, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend her for any celebration or milestone in life. We'd happily ask her to be part of our family's special occasions again in the future. Thank you for helping us give my Nana such a fitting farewell.

Yes I’m proud of myself, I work bloody long and hard for ALL my couples and families.

Holding space for love comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes . There is such beauty to be found in the light and in the darkness ###
